Default Dealership Possibly Sold Me Wrong Oil Filter?

Hey guys, I got a little dilema. I went to the Toyota dealership to buy an oil filter for my 09 tC. The one for the tC part number is TOY-90915-YZZF1. The one they sold me is part number TOY-90915-YZZF2. I didn't notice this until I did my oil change and I'm not sure if this is just a new number for the oil filter on the tC. The one they gave me is slightly smaller than the one I took off which was a Toyota oil filter. I put the new one on the car and everything fit like it should. So I drove it around for a little bit and everything seems to be ok. Just wanted to know if the filter they sold me is fine on the car or not. Really don't want to have to change the oil again cause I put some Mobil 1 in the car. Any info is appreciated!

It's not 1/2 the size. It's about a quarter of an inch shorter than the TOY-90915-YZZF1 filter. It's the same diameter and everything. Just wanted to make sure I can get buy 6 months till my next oil change. I only drive about 3k miles every six months so thats why I change it at 6 months.

Ok that's a relief. I just got back from driving it about 20 miles to make sure that it was good and everything seemed normal so I'm happy. Thanks for the help.

the toyota 1.8 engine uses the smaller filter. the 2.4 uses the slightly longer filter. they are interchangeable but it makes sense to use the longer one in the larger engine. you can change the filter without changing the oil. about a quarter of a quart will come out.
