the thermostat has nothing to do with the air charge.

the thermostat has nothing to do with the air charge.
It changes the cylinder temp, It lowers the temp around the air entering the cylinder witch in tern lowers the air temp..The coolant/water surrounds the cylinders in these 2.4 engines, The cooler the cylinders are the cooler the air is, its common sence.

Heat is the enemy! Running a little cooler is good for high reving engines especially ours. When your doing 80 on the highway and your tack says 3500rpm or 120 and your at 5400- 5500 rpm's, Thats alot of heat and friction going on in the engine.. A cooler running engine is just one of the many tricks from the old V8 days that works and makes sence,, lol
