Default Ebay HIDs fun! With pix!

Well, I got my HIDs for $120 shipped on ebay. They came with one bulb out, but the nice sellerman replaced it. They're literally plug and play, so the install is drama free. In they go. They are bright as hell, perfectly white, but more importantly they seem to be properly positioned. I've heard all the horror stories and hate regarding HIDs put into stock reflectors, but I'm not seeing a problem. I've looked at the car from all angles and distances, and kept an eye on where the light is going, but it seems to stay down low where it belongs. The light scatters a bit oddly on the ground; still, it's not everywhere like with DSMs and such. I really don't feel I need projectors at this point - no motorists have flashed me in protest. It seems even to glare less than my old bulbs. Anyway, on with the pix.

Oh, and don't tell me that last pic looks like I'm blinding people. That's just the camera. They look real nice in reality.

the colors don't match, the passenger emits a sharper hint of blue and the driver side looks to be pure white.

Although the bulbs are different makes slightly, soon I will have a matched pair of each. I bought a spare set of bulbs when the bulb that came with it was defective (one of them). However in reality they look identical (blinding white eye burning), there is just really bad lens flare on the pix.

Upon second inspection, yeah, not all HID bulbs are created equal. I think the ones that came with the cheapo kit are a little better; when the replacement comes, it'll go in.

Ive had hids on my car for about 18months or so .... and they work great. The projectors will give a cleaner cut off all the light stays within a certain box. Eventhough it might be hard to tell .... your hids ...and my hids... the light is not constrained the same way. Just think about inspection - when that time comes you might have to put your stock bulbs in because its technically illegal for this setup. In NJ they don't bother with you but im sure some states/towns care more.
