Engine Question, Educate Please
I was browsing around on ZPI's site and noticed they have Stage I-II short blocks and long blocks. What's the difference between a short block and a long block? And any idea what these engines are?
Here's a link to the engines.

A long block includes the top and bottom end (head, block, etc). A short block is just the bottom end (block and internals).
Those are simply tC engines rebuilt with different rods and pistons. The long block probably includes thier ported and polished head. A little steep on the prices.
Personally, if I were going to build it, I would build it. Meaning I would buy a block, have it sleeved and bored out a bit further, then use good rods and pistons (higher compression ratio for NA or lower if I was going FI). Then take a head and have it ported and polished (and port matched if needed) at a good machine shop.
