the engine produces 160hp 163tq at the flywheel

you do know your both saying the exact same thing dont you? But your trying to say he is wrong and you are right?
flywheel HP and wheel HP are different, im just tryin to put some of you in prospective of the factory claimed HP vs measured WHP. thats all
if you read my thread carefully, youll understand wat i said.
looks lik only a few actually read an understood it

The factory measures the HP at the flywheel (back of the engine where the trans connects to). The horsepower is less at the wheels because of friction and reciprocating mass . The rule of thumb is subtract 15% of the Flywheel power to find the power at the Wheels. A longer piston stroke (how far the piston moves up and down) = more torque, shorter stroke = higher horsepower. These are just rules of thumb and may change depending on certain modifications

Front wheel horsepower (FWHP) would be the measure of horsepower at the front wheels, not BHP.
If someone has a question please make sure you know what the hell you're talking about before you offer any information.

The factory measures the hp and tq of the engine at the engine. When the engine is in the car the only way to know the actual hp then is on a dyno. The dyno measure the wheel hp but for the engine hp to go through the drivetrain (clutch ,flywheel, transmission, cv axles, tires) you lose aprox 15-20% of the engine hp. This is why you see the diffrent numbers but if you want to know what the engine hp and tq are after mods, just dyno the car before any mods are done which in my case it was 138hp and 147 tq. After I installed an intake it was 147hp and 154 tq. Just see what the diffrence is 9hp and 7tq just add to engine hp and tq and thats what you have at the engine. which is 169 hp and 170 tq.
