Default Finally re-tuned...

So I've been MIA for a while... Been way busy but finally found time to do this for me and SL.

I drive A LOT. My tC is a 2009. For about two years I drag raced the tC, from a few months after breaking it in up until early 2011. I currently sit at 114,xxx miles so I'm not sure if it affects my final hub numbers so here they are.

Almost 2 1/2 years ago, the car had about 60,000 miles.
Invida s-pipe
Dezod exhaust
aFe dry filter
GFI with flex tube and velocity stack at bumper

Dezod exhaust
Bottom TRD airbox
aFe dry filter
GFI ++(TRD airbox pulls in air from fender)
WeaponR IM + RX-8 TB

Aside from the obvious final numbers the car does FEEL more responsive. I hit the gas pedal and it jumps. Gas mileage seems to have improved but I'll determine that after a few tank fulls and my scan gauge. My tuner told me the stock exhaust manifold/s-pipe is holding back the potential. I had a Dezod header but I sold it. I had an Invidia s-pipe, but I sold it. So I think my final opinion is unless you have full I/H/SP/E+super charger/turbo I'm not sure this will give you much power gain. I'm satisfied with the throttle response and sound so it's not a complete fail since this was more of an experiment than anything.

***These are HUB hp/tq so if you get this far and think it's WHP this is for you. Also I'm sick as poo with a flu so if I mis spelled anything or sound like an idiot I'm sorry.

Went to the track a few weeks ago, unprepared with my street tires. Horrible times, no traction. Couldn't do any launching. Also learned my clutch might be too weak, it slips when I go hard into third. I babied second all night and didn't launch so I'm still not sure. The rpms shoot up with no MPH increase and then it grabs.

Has anyone else used the Exedy OEM replacement clutch? It feels softer than the original.

Im using the exedy oem clutch, does feel softer than stock, Had it for a while n still runs good. I dont drag the car anymore but it still holds up at HPDE events. going to be using the same clutch once the turbo goes in. dont have enough funds to get a new one for the new set up im doing.

Damn maybe I need to get used to it. Just feels really weird like my tires are spinning but they're not. Next week I'm going out and try one more time but with my drag wheels. It'll be the last time I race. Putting all back to stock and making a garage sale.

No wonder I haven't seen you around... Sounds like your car is gonna smash on people. I should try coming out to support sometime.

Irwindale. I've only raced there since 2008 with the tc. Fastest so far has been 9.4 with way less mods than I have now. I think I'm gonna keep my car but bone stock. It's too reliable to get rid of it.

Yea, road racing is so much more fun than drag racing. I used my slicks on my stock exedy clutch the last time I went to irwindale. Held up good. Did about 4 runs on them. I still couldn't beat my time of 9.3, I was way of. My fastest time was a 9.6 or 9.7 can't remember.

I was only able to do one run tonight. Still feels like it's slipping sometimes. Heres the vid.

Errr I don't know yet. I've been trying to quit. I go to watch a few times a month and it makes me want to race. If I sell more parts I'll probably not anymore. Irwindale is so busy now. 90% are muscle cars it seems.

Good numbers. I wonder what I would be on a dynopack.

I'm currently at 176whp/187wtq
setup: TRD CAI / Dezod green header / Dezode 2.5 exhaust / PROefi -Tuned (Dynomite was the dyno I was tuned on)

I just put on the Invidia s-pipe and will go back after the new PROefi firmware gets updated. Hoping to crack 180whp

A couple guys that went to the same tuner as me and have header and intake, which I don't have. Made 10-15 more hp. The reason why I like dynapack is because the roller can be different simply by one car having lighter wheels than the other. Hub vs hub is better comparable. Especially when we all help each other out to know what makes power and what doesn't work.

My intake manifold/tb combo didn't do much in power. The car wants to at top end but it dies flat. There's too much restriction with the stock manifold. I sold my dezod header because I wanted my engine bay to look as stock as possible.

Good luck with 180. You can dooo it.

Thanks.

I don't think the IM would make much difference untill you can increase airflow i.e upgraded Cams.

I'll be picking up BC stage 2 cams and IM and TB around summer time.

I was looking to increase torque with the IM and it did pick up some. I'd go all out on the motor but my evo would get jealous.

DynoPack is pretty high reading, so it's more important to compare numbers to your previous run/tune than to other cars on different dynos.

Both of mine were from the same place. Pictures are above. Local guys also go to Church. Dan garder did a dyno run on his stock frs there as well and results were 179/156 (some guys are making like what, 150/120?). I'm not worried how much hp my car makes but I am satisfied with what it gained with very minimal mods. I drive that thing 90 miles a day I need it to last haha.
