Default fujita CAI made short ram?

has anyone made their fujita CAI into a short ram?
i have a fujita CAI and a kaminari body kit and my MAF sensor already went bad...toyota said it was because of water and i got it replaced and now about 800-1000 miles later the CEL is back on and it came on right after driving in the rain.
i know with the injen CAI you can take off the pipe that goes into the finder and works as a short ram.
can i do this with the fujita?

It won't work(period)
I don't think it was water that made your MAF go bad...do you have an 07? i keep hearing the fujita's for the 07 are famous for giving you CEL's and prob ruining MAF's

yes it is an 07 and i had the intake on for about 3 months before i put the kaminari kit on and the day after i did it rained hard and the light came on the next day and i got a new sensor and it didnt come back on till it rained again so the water ruining it kind of makes sence

I beg to differ:

I just had to cut that other little mounting bracket off w/ a hacksaw but it works and fits like a champ!

It looks good BUT that MAF is pretty damn close to that filter...

hows your low end TQ?
bet you got a flat curve till about 3 to 3500 rpms then it kicks up and starts building power right?

not really...it tends to pull strong all the way through the RPM's...it pulls a little harder around 5K + but that's where this car makes its peak HP (5700).

Not to mention..that's how other short ram's are set up..here's the weapon R

Yeah I had a WR my self, but went back to the stock box with the K&N drop in.
while i liked the top end power it gave, my car never idled right and when paired up with a 4 to 1 header and full 2.5 exhaust it gave big power in the high end but my low end curve was pretty flat.
I have heard this is due to the MAF sitting so close to the cone filter, since most aftermarket intakes use oversized pipe, it shocks the MAF and in some cases causes a slight lean condition.

either way that was the case for ME if yours works fine then its all good.

You still on the stock manifold?
