Default Header primaries touching ok?

Hey I just got my MMW header and I noticed that a couple of the primaries are touching. Is this ok? I heard that this can cause noise because the primaries vibrating against one another. Do you other MMW owners have this problem?

Thanks, BrianH

mines touches where you take out the long pin to check the oil level ! , thats it, it touches it but it doesnt force it down like the alphawerks header that i had before..

besides that everything else is smooth.

Yeah, I was more talking about the primary tubes touching each other near the first bends. I have yet to install it, but does anyone know if this is ok?

Kumitsu, do you have exhaust? which? do you like it?

Thanks, BrianH

that would actually possibly cause rasp....I think it was Alphawerks that had this problem....some mechanic jammed a screwdriver between the pipes and the rasp disappeared. Something along those lines.

Either way, you should be fine. Install it and see if ends up being a problem. If it is, I would suggest some sort of header wrap to shove in-between the pipes unless you really want to return it and deal with waiting again.

I have the Alpha Werks header, and I am not happy with the sound it makes.. some call it rasp, but personally I think the headers were not tuned properly during the design process. My primary tubes where touching and my friend separated them to see if the noise would go away.. and it did not. I used a feeler gauge to see the before and after difference when he separated the tubes and they were not touching anymore.. too bad that didn't solve the problem! I noticed that once I removed one of the brackets that support the header to the motor, that noise was not as bad.. go figure ? I also had to bend the oil dipstick so it would not touch the header<- prior to installation..

Alpha werks headers for sale ! IM me lol

If anyone else has info please keep this going..
