Default how to detach negative battery??? help

engine light.
how do you detach the negative part of the battery.
what tools are needed

what about and engine light? do you mean it's on? if your check engine light is on, better get the code checked out before you disconnect the battery! the light is there for a reason.

it's a simply 10mm bolt on the negative post of the battery. a socket or a wrench would work fine. but i'd really get that code pulled to find out what it's saying.

HA HA im doing it now lol. i unbolted it. thing is i took the one nutbolt off but something else fell maybe a washer? i have the nut/bolt though.

Your gonna need the washer otherwise your nut might come loose.

And please dont try installing a turbo yourself one day...

thanks for the laugh, you meant your engine needed light to see what you were doing.. ;) lol well glad you got it figured out!

You shouldnt have to completely remove the nut and bolt. Just loosen them and pull the terminal off the post. Should be a 10 or 14 MM. I forget off the top of my head.
