If you don't know what you are doing, you need to find an installer. Remote starts are not for novices. Especially on manual tC's. But in essence, you disconnect the lower clutch switch and put a jumper in it to make the car think the clutch is always pressed in. Then you proceed with the standard remote start install, I HIGHLY recommend you let someone who knows what they are doing do this... You could fry major components and end spending ALOT of money... I'm an installer so I know what I'm doing but we are on opposite sides of the country so I can't help you.

I've seen those things being installed. I just simply would not put your car through that. It is a difficult install process on your car where they have to time the start so the ignition hits for long enough. And of course you can't ever park your car in gear. The first time you do, you'll hit the button and the car will leap and stall. Just don't do it. Its not worth it, TRUST ME!

If you bypass the clutch switch you'll also loose your cruise control. I mean idk how important that is to you but thats also a factor to consider.

I read a post about someone who had the remote start on a manual. They wound up starting it in gear and it took off with very poor results............

Isn't it against the law to have remote starters in manuals?
That's a safety violation.

I put the alarm in the tC. I just want to know how to the Remote Start in my friends.

An installer he said that you have to connect a relay in.

Most installers won't do it either. My friend worked at an install shop, and a guy came in with a 50K Lexus/ Mercedes (can't remember) standard tranny, And wanted a remote starter installed.
They told him NO for about a week. He kept coming back, They finally did the work after he signed 3 different waivers and gave a little "under the table" tip

Very pricey and not really worth it IMHO. But if you're still dead set on doing it. Shop around and be smart about it.

i have a remote start in mine,

1. i never park in gear anyways

2. you dont have to time the ignition, it has a tach wire that you connect to your ignition coil so that once the car starts, the power to the starter cuts

3. you dont lose your cruise control you just bypass the starter switch on the clutch

4. you need an immobilizer bypass, and an extra key, a lot of people always say this is a bad idea, but i also have a starter kill relay, for when the alarm goes off, and if the car is started from remote and someone gets in one of two things happens:
1. when they push the brakes on the car it stops and the car rearms itself
2. the steering wheel still locks up because there is no key in the ignition

5. yes its illegal to have it on standard trannies, but i still got it

6. its a little more complicated than one relay, thats why i bought the alarm with the starter module already built into it

this was my 6th remote start alarm, and 2nd one on a standard tranny, its not an impossible job, but it sure does take a lot of time if you dont know what your doing

Nah i installed it myself with a friend from Best Buy. Trust me its worth all the hassle when i get in the car on a hot sunny day and the A/C
has been running for 10 minutes and the whole car is cooled off, or in the winter when I get in the car and everything is warmed up.

Do you think there's a wiring diagram to find out what wires I have to connect cause no
one else on Scionlife wants to notify me the right way to hook it up with a Prestige 997 Alarm?

What diagram do you have?

Is it just the tC electrical manual?

This is not a GREAT idea to install on a manual tC or any other manual automobile, period! That's all I can say.

It is nice to have it while it hot or snowing outside but it'll be much easier and less responsible on automatic than manual.
My friend had it on his manual Honda civic and he forgot to put it on neutral. His car end up hitting the curb and hit other car on the street.
Do what you think its best.

Good Luck
