Keep on writing. It shows the limitations of your knowledge.

That is exactly how I feel with your unrealistic equations.

his equations involve starting at a constant speed, not from a dead start. Who cares anymore, all I am saying is that most people aren't out to beat on a car to gain .5 seconds in the real world. Getting off a perfect launch to prove his equation everytime is a joke. It isn't a joke if your are drag racing your car though just NOT from a street butt dyno point of view all I am saying... You have to be a pretty good driver or a professional one to boot to keep those KILL numbers.... .5 can be tricky for anyone that misshifts, spins their tires out from 1st, a bad launch, bad timing with the green, weather, humidity, altitude, kind of fuel and how much fuel, size of the driver, etc.... Any of these variables can change a 12 sec car to a 11.5 second car.

I can write out a fantasy equation on how to solve the world economy too, but that doesn't make it easy just makes me an unrealistic know it all...

Its also a drag racing mantra that 10hp = .1 in the 1/4. Therefore, .5 seconds = 50 hp. Something else to think about. Not that the part adds 50hp, but it does allow for better power transfer that can simulate HP

thats VERY dependent on the gearing and the weight of the car. don't use that mantra as your bible of estimates

I agree...but it is a broad way of estimating where you would stack up against another stock tC

You are not adding driver's error which is a big part of racing. According to your calculations 'roughly 90mph' is a bold variable. A 16 year old driver with limited driving experience can drag like the best of them to obtain your #s? Right. Your numbers are not stable.

Quit hijacking the thread. This is not a drag racing post. Like I said, I don't care about 1/4 times because 99.15252566234% of tC owners x 44 - 524235.553 = Most don't care to abuse a little car like ours, or really appreciate .5 second gains from beating on their car, let alone go to a track to test .5 seconds and 66 feet slamming the engine to poop for what? The only tCs i know i.e. that 12 second tC with all it's glory and that tC dragster maybe might appreciate it but for the rest of us... Give us our SC and shave off a second in stock 0-60 times and then you are butt dynoing a smile from everybody entering on ramps...

Hang out on a MOPAR site and go buy a souped up charger, roadrunner, or a viper if you want to know how much difference .5 seconds will give you in 1/4 times....
What difference does it make? If the car runs faster in the quarter, then it accellerates faster.. the point of the thread is what type of gains the mod provides.. so whether you are talking about accelleration on the track or on the street makes no difference, so why go off trying to cut people down? But then again, you also thought manuals had no trannys as well... remember??? So go easier on others.

first off I'm not cutting down anybody... He referred to me as ignorant in the first place and responded with a crude equation to make himself feel better or smarter? lalala Who cares.

Second, manuals don't have transmissions like automatics and was the point. It was a joke anyway when said.

Learn this thing called humor and retort. It is a wonderful thing your highness.... And this is coming from someone that calls himself an engifineer

watch out engifineer!!! Motozen is also a ninja, and can kill you in less time than a blink of an eye. Dont ____ this guy off if you know whats good for you.

BTW, I almost forgot about that manuals dont have transmission statement, one funniest thing I've read on here.

90 miles per hour (roughly the quarter-mile speed at the end of the track) divided by 60 is 1.5 miles per minute.
his equations involve starting at a constant speed,
What part of "...speed at the end of the track..." did you not understand?

At the moment you cross the finish line, you will be going 1.5 miles a minute if you are going 90mph at that point. I'm not talking about constant speed, I'm talking about an instantaneous moment of time.

Since you didn't grasp that point, I'll put it another way: in bracket racing, a .5 breakout is considered a horrible time. .1 indicates something went wrong, and .2 means something seriously went wrong. .5 would mean you should give up and go home.
