i don't get a funny smell but if it rattles, you didn't install the foam around the fender because that is where the cai hits and makes the rattle noise.

It's more to it than that.

That is a rub point, and the bend just downstream from the filter can also rub against the fender. I used a little bit of the foam insulation wrap to make a little pad and wedge it in there.

No, the filter if installed CORRECTLY shouldnt have any troubles. the silicone strip WILL sometimes come out. what i did was cut the strip in half, and it stayed in there better.

What I would do is start from the throttle body again, and make sure everything is tightened down more securley. If that still dosnt help, cal injen.

i had the same problem when i first got the intake. make sure the rubber is installed correctly. the part that hits is that hole where the intake goes into. you know what im talking about? well that part rubs. or try to get like some thick tape with foam and tape it to the intake directly because the rubber piece tends to fall off.

you can use pipe insulation also if you need to make sure the pipe doesnt hit into the side where it goes into the wheel well. Also - make sure your bracket isnt broken ...
