Installed Camcon VVT-I controller
problem.... somtimes when the camcon is on my rpm goes up and down up and down rocking the car back nd forth. i checked all the wiring seems good. some times it does it somtimes it doesnt its weird...
and my cel comes right on when it is turned on after a reset of the ecu..
im thinking i have a bad ground since we connected it to a 3 inch peice of metal connected too the ecu.. what do you think?
And when it is working it gave me a lead of about a car and a half from 0-70 on my friends tc which used to be the same speed as me. AND im not even tuned

when the camcon is off it back to stock...
the weird thing is i reset my scu drove around witht he camcon off no check engine light but as soon as i turn it on it pops straight up.
everything is zero until 2k right when i got to 2 k my cel cam on .

It's my understanding that it should not cause a check engine light if installed properly and tuned within acceptable ranges.
Verifying what code the ECU is throwing would help, but it is my guess that-
1) Something might not be wired or grounded correctly
2) The CAMCON might be attempting to adust the A/F ratios outside of a range acceptable to the ECU. I.E., too rich or too lean. This would throw a code.
3) Same as #2, but concerning timing advancements.
Any way of pulling the code and telling us what it is ? A code that goes off quickly indicates it is likely one of the above.
