The hot to cold cycling is the issue that the exhaust manifold doesnt let happen. They even warn of running the car with open shorty headers for the same reason. I dont know if it will effect a tC and its motor but its something to think about.

I pull up to a signal today and up rolls a sight from the early 80's. A VW bug with no engine hatch. It has a straight pipe going way up in the air like the off roaders would have. The rear wheels are cambered beyond belief. He takes off and you would think that a 747 was taking off with all the noise. Fortunately he turned a block down as I was loosing my hearing real fast. I can't believe he will get too far before he is pulled over.

open headers dear god.....
imagine the sound of an m60 machine gun without earmuffs on, you can hear something similar to the sound bouncing off the air if such was possible.
oldyeller youd be amazed at what people get away with, down here theres a cruisin grand event every friday where people drive grand ave. in esondido and dear god straight pipes fake pipes w/open headers all oldschool rides though very amazing.
down a little ways theres a turbo'd astrovan that has the turbo itself sticking up out of the hood you can hear it spool up and wow i never knew an astro van could move so fast.
to each thier own as long as the cars dont sound ignant an ricey im all for it.
