Long starts ?
So I am taking my car to the dealer to have them check out some error messages. I had bought my tc last week, the guy I bought it from said there was a 02 code that was going off, and the car seems like it takes a little long for it to start.
When starting it cranks fine just takes a few seconds to get started. Any ideas on possible fixes?
I am thinking that depending on what the dealer says is wrong I will do the repairs myself.
If there is a 02 sensor problem, are they easy to replace? Do i have to splice in a new 02 or just unplug ? thanks!

well, you have two o2 sensors, one in the header and one in the s-pipe. the one in the header reads a/f ratios and makes corrections. a new toyota o2 sensor would cost a bit over $100 dollars.
the second o2 sensor on the s-pipe just reads the differences in oxygen levels after the catalytic convertor to make sure it is working.

The 02 should not be causing your starting issue. But how long does it crank? A few cranks before starting is perfectly normal on the tC, and most toyotas I have driven.
Did he tell you what the code was (the number? )

no he did not remember the code given, but when the dealer diagnoses I will find out what is needed.
The amount of crank depends on if car has been running ect.
If the car is cold it starts up within 2 cranks id say. If car has been running it takes maybe 2 or more to start.

O2 sensors have nothing to do with starting as the O2 sensor is not even used in the operation of the vehicle until the car is nearly warmed up. Before that point, base maps on the ECU control the car.
Like everybody said, a few cranks is normal, and even more when its cold. But if you think its taking longer then usual it probably is. What year is yours? Battery may be getting week...or do you have any sort of sound sytem? It may be draining the battery slightly not giving a full charge when you go to start. Or perhaps even more off the wall but dirty injectors or spark plugs could slow startup...but that is unlikely to happen in a TC until 100K+ miles

^^ correct. The car is in open loop during startup. And with iridium plugs, I would highly doubt they are getting cruddy at this point, unless of course the car is running way out of tune or is buring a ton of oil. But in either case, you would notice a lot more wrong than just startup
^ exactly what I was thinking
to the OP...if it really bothers you get the dealer to do something. But IMHO if you think it is probably not a big deal, wait till the weather warms up. Cold weather typically = longer starts

ya so the MAFS got messed up because of a crappy intake system on my car. New injen intake on its way, and picked up a new sensor.
My front bumper has 2 cracks in it what would be good to repair it? As in a good product to glue it together.

Cracks in your front bumper? Umm...well you cant just glue it back together. LOL You can take it off, sand the back of it down a little and lay some fiberglass...that should hold the crack, and keep it from cracking more. But it won't make it look better from the front side
