Manual swap key/immobilizer issues
Hi all, I’ve just finished “manual swapping” one of my TCs, but I’m having trouble getting it to start, or even crank for that matter. By using my automatic daily as a reference I’ve been able to narrow down the issue to most likely being something to do with the immobilizer. I’ve got the original key, transponder key ECU, lock cylinder, and body harness from the car, along with a known good m/t ECU and engine harness. I’m curious if anyone can lead me to a good manual swap thread that has info on how to deal with the immobilizer relationship with the ecu. My only option right now is getting a matching m/t ECU, transponder key ECU, and lock cylinder from a junkyard, but then I have to pay $200 for a locksmith to make me a new key on the gamble that it’ll actually solve my problem. Thanks in advance for any info
edit* I found a thread here that has a lot of the info I’m looking for. They said they had to replace the ecu, immobilizer ecu, lock cylinder, and dash harness in order to get the car to start. I’m just curious if replacing the dash harness and the lock cylinder are really necessary or if I can get away with the replacing the other components only.
