Have you not been reading this thread at all? We DID do the antifouler trick, and we did it correctly as well. I'm really curious now to whether or not the debris from the header broke our secondary O2 sensors. If that's the case, I smell a lawsuit.

I'm not sure how it would break the 02 sensor, but i suppose it *is* possible for a peice of the cat to end up in the cavity the sensor is reading from. If that's the case, I could see a CEL being thrown maybe, as the O2 will be reading false values, well below the normal threshold. Again, this is all speculation.

I find it odd how I can go 70-90 miles with no CEL, then all of a sudden it comes back.. and it's always the same code.

I just found out yesterday you can clear the CEL without disconnecting the battery..

just hold down the tripometer reset button while your car is in ACC mode (not started).

keep holding the button while you start the car and it turns right off.

I haven't actually tired this yet because it hasn't been on for very long. when it comes back on I'll let everyone know if it works.

That is a reset for for the "Main Req." light that the dealership does after completing their maintainence. I had to ask the dealer how to do this after changing out my oil and doing the usual scheduled stuff by myself. I don't think it will reset the CEL, but I'll give it a shot when I leave work in a half hour or so.

Does yours only come on every 80 (give or take a few) miles also?

That's what I've been doing. I've been using my roommates OBDII utility for a while now. It clips right into the ECU data port and flashes the code for the CEL on a simple LCD display, and after a couple cycles it will eventually just delete the code. I have more peace of mind having the reader constantly plugged in so I'm not inadvertantly ignoring a much more serious problem.

just disconnected the negative battery terminal for about 10 minutes, then connect it again.

I called Megan and here's what they told me, although it sounds like something they just pulled out of their ___. Here goes:

The secondary O2 sensor gets triggered because the exhaust gasses get superheated in the precat due to the bottleneck from the 4-1 convergence there. The exhaust gets so hot that it destroys the ceramic material in the precat which is what accounts for the chunks in the exhaust that DoubleJ16 and I are both experiencing. This is all because of quick engineering, cheap parts, and the desire to be competitive in the aftermarket world. Well, that's great, so now we have headers that fart fire. Lovely.

I'm taking these things out before anything else happens. Back to stock for sure. I'm so tired of all these issues with these things.

Be careful guys, these things get WAY TOO HOT and could be SERIOUSLY DANGEROUS, and MAY CAUSE OTHER PROBLEMS TO YOUR EXHAUST.

This could be the same reason why our secondary sensors are getting triggered. The exhaust is practically VOLCANO hot!
