Hey, At least they recognize the issue and offering replacements. I'd buy them again in a heart beat. I have an eraser on my pencil....so do they

If only I had taken pictures when I had to clean out my S-Pipe... you should have seen the amount of crap I pulled out of there. I wonder if Megan would have been willing to replace the S-Pipe, exhaust, or even blown heads due to exhaust blockage?

I doubt it.

i'm really worried about more parts breaking off on mine.. it sure is annoying having to drop your entire exhaust system just because a header isn't made correctly.

since I have the anti-fouler's in place and it's still throwing the code, the only other thing I can think of is that the K&N cai is causing the problem.

It is a possibility that the added airflow from the intake and headers is causing the exhaust gasses to run too hot. But others with this same combination haven't had any issues. Personally, I think we just both got ____ty sets of headers.

Why is everyone freaking out? It's Megan for pete sake. They will take car of this. I'm still curious how many people actually had this happen?

Over 3000 miles on this Megan.....looks sweet, sounds sweet and still no CEL.

But, just because they recognize a potential issue, I will ask for a new version under their recall.

Yea, get the ceramic coated DC Worst case, the precat does fall out and no warranty, I'm still better with a stainless steel header and no precat than a ceramic coated and no precat

Slow learner? Thank heaven people still buy from companies that do a recall...... or every major car manuf would be out of business, no meat would ever be sold, fast food would be gone and the medical industry would shut down

Idiot

heh.. Yah.. I'm confident Megan will fix the issue.. The Megan Racing header on our project tC bit the dust.. I took it off today and looked inside of it... no sign of any pre-cat filter... except when I tip the header up and down.. I hear what sounds like little pebbles bouncing around inside.. <sigh>..

Alpha Werks is looking mighty good right now.

If you want to pay Megan to do their R&D for them, more power to you! This idiot thinks things through a little better. I was holding out on the proverbial "I TOLD YOU SO!!!", but you needed it.

Why not....GM, Ford, Honda, Toyota....Pick a company that makes widgets and if they are any good....they have recalls because no one is perfect. I'm sure Megan wil handle this in the right way...just like the 3 recalls I got for my Avalanch in the last 2 months. Sucks but happens ALL the time.

Now if Megan says no, it is what it is and no replacement....then I'm all with you and would totally trash them at all chances. But, that's simply not the case.......so far.

I'm pretty sure mine is doing the same thing after a piece of the precat broke off. it doesn't sound quite as good in the lower RPMs.. I unbolted the s-pipe again and moved the header back and forth and everything inside moved around.

Did just a piece break off on yours? Mine was completely gone.. I'm assuming half of it blew out of the exhaust and the rest is stuck in the s-pipe... I need to get the car on a lift and take the s-pipe out so I can see if I can get it out.. since its annoying..

actually, yes, that's the exact same message I got. I wouldn't waste your time on the anti-fouler trick, I have it and it didn't do anything.

also, wouldn't bank 1 be the first O2 sensor (the one actually on the header) and not the one on the s-pipe?

I'm really not sure, I didn't look inside the header before I put it on the car, so I'm not sure what it looks like all together.. but the piece was pretty big.

at first, I noticed a small rattle coming from my car in 1st gear (low-mid RPMs), it sounds like the rattle was actually inside the header... at first I though the anti-fouler's came lose and were rattling around.. I jacked the car up and realized the sound is coming directly from the s-pipe. It sounded like something really small so I figured it would shoot out the back of the exhaust in a few days.. so I drive the car around about 400-500 miles and realized it was just sounding louder. the piece managed to make it all the way through the s-pipe and got stopped right before the first cat. it wouldn't go any further because the screen inside the cat.. so I dropped the entire mid section of the exhaust (I even had to remove the hanger from the very annoying rubber holders) and the piece of pre-cat finally fell off.

i'm going to have to remove the entire s-pipe today to clear out some more pieces that came out of the header. fun fun.

mine did the same thing too....the rattle stopped but you can hear the rasp at higher rpms. I am afraid its going to ruin my high flow cat and in the event it does im going to raise hell!!

Maybe you guys ____ed your 02 sensor somehow while taking out the stock manifold/removing installing the sensor from the manifold/header

I guess anything is possible. But I turned it once or twice with a wrench, it came lose enough for me to turn it with my hand.. it was not stripped at all and threaded into the megan header with no problem.

I just put my headers on the other night.. so far probally like a little over 500 miles or so, and no problems.. I've been racing the hell out of it.. and it sounds great, and def a power increase. I guess the inevitable is bound to happen soon then.. oh well.
