now for the performance. beofre the header i had MMW intake and i added the ZPI catback and that took away from my low end a little and nice gain up top. and it reved faster. i was pleased with the power gain from ZPI catback.

after the header i was definately impressed! the car pulls MUCH better and the low-midrange was restored! easily chrips third. the car revs even faster now. redline comes out of nowhere. very happy with my purchase.
i noticed you live in california as well. aren't you worried about getting pulled over with the headers? i'm damn near tempted to get some myself, but them fines will really set you back. what about when you have to smog? are you just going to swap out the headers?
yea i do live in california. not too worried about getting pulled over. even with full straight through exahust the car isnt that loud when driven normally. it does get really loud however when you floor it. but its not like im doin that all the time. and when smog time comes, which is in 5 years since the car is new, i will just swap out the header to the stock exhaust manifold.

as for the install. it is a simple straight forward swap. there are no fitment issues becuase the quality and craftmanship are 110%.

and it is true, any header on the tc is illegal in california. so might as well get a matched system, makes the most power and throughout the powerband at that. unlike the dc or alphawerks which puts it all up top. it also sounds way better then the DC header. trust me i know, i used to own one before the MMW header. i noticed a good gain with the DC, but it was WAY too raspy. when i got the MMW it completely blew away the performance gains of the DC becuase it makes about 7-8 more whp, and its throughout the whole powerband.

I'm pretty much set on getting myself a pair of these headers, pair them up with a weapon-r intake and full cat back magnaflow exhaust, and away we go.

My biggest question is at the low-end torque mark. I think I've read that you don't lose the low-end with these set of headers. Can someone confirm this?

Thanks.

i was gonna ask the same thing.

but its a 4-2-1 header, so it will give you more power through out the power band, unlike a 4-1 which will give you high end power, and rob low end.

850 bucks for a negligible 5-10hp(after dounting the I/E)......sounds pretty expensive to me......quality looks nice though.

From what I understand the car picked up about 20 hp (w/o a baseline) with the header/inake/exhaust, etc......I simply split up the #s.........

Header alone without any other supporting mods yields 15hp 14tq. Exhaust and intake yield 8-9hp.

Well, it all depends. now if MMW said that it was 850 shipped, then i feel it would be a better deal. But seriously, 15 hp is nothing to you when your driving an STI, lol

15 hp on a 160 hp vehicle NA is a very decent increase. However i do agree the price is too stiff for $850, when for $475 13-14hp can be had with a AW header S pipe.

$850 is our MSRP. The $475 quoted for the AW setup is retail pricing, not MSRP. Apples to apples please. We are currently only offering the header direct because of the low stock. Once these are in full swing production they will be available from dealers; pricing then will be in the dealer's hands.

Also, it should be noted that the power band of our header compared to a 4-1 header/S-pipe combo will be very different. Our header offers much better power in the low and mid range, where it counts the most.

Just for the header though, with the s-pipe its around 475. but i dont think the MMW will drop a whole lot once dealers recieve them. They are very nice but i just cant justify spending 900 dollars for a header and s-pipe shipped. ill have to wait and do some cosmetics in the mean time.
