The readiness status of the OBD2 scan done when I took my 2007 Scion Tc in for the yearly vehicle inspection showed a "Not Ready" status on three items: Catalyst, EVAP System and O2 Sensor. Because it was "Not Ready" more than two items, the garage wouldn't issue a new inspection sticker. I checked my gas cap and it is secure and fully closed. Can anyone tell me how to determine exactly what is wrong? If I need to replace the O2 Sensor, can anyone tell me where it is located in the engine bay? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Have you disconnected the battery or reset codes recently? "Not Ready" means the ecu needs to collect more data to make sure there aren't any problems, so driving around for a while should do the trick.

There are 2 o2 sensors. Bank one is located in the stock exhaust manifold, bank 2 is located post cat in the S pipe area. Being as you had a catalyst code (exact code helps a lot more) you might be looking at a faulty catalytic converter, causing the o2 sensor to read "not ready." Basically you'll want to take this to a shop so they can properly diagnose, since 1 code can be set off by 10 different things.

 

what state is yearly? i bought my car in 2006 and never did anything.

you just have to drive it around for a couple days to let the ecu make sure everythings fine. your o2 sensors are fine. you may have disconnected the battery or reset some codes to cause this. so just drive it around for about a week and take it back to get re inspected. you'll be fine. i had this happen to me on my other car cause i replaced the battery..

 

if nothing is wrong, the obd can be ready in 5 minutes. i did w.o.t, and hit high speeds,(all on a closed course, with a professional driver)
