I say stop crossing your legs and drive a real mans car, "A Standard". If you go and waste countless hours and money on this Paddle Shifter idea, you would be a fool, unless your blessed with having millions of dollars and alot of time on your hands. Thank You and have a wonderful glorious day.
The GTR having paddles is one of the points that most enthusiasts consider a bad thing. Traction control paddle shifters, etc are all nice ways of not allowing you to learn to drive a sports car, yet look like you can. Some like em, but that doesnt make it a drivers car either. Just because a car made for the average rich guy to drive fast on a track every now and then without killing himself has them does not make them what everyone wants. Dont get me wrong, the GTR is a nice car, but I would much rather shift myself using a real manual gearbox. To me that is part of being a good driver, not a decent driver in a smart car. You could also argue that a car that just drives itself around the track for you is better
Then you could just sit there and look cool. I personally was glad they took traction control back away from F1 drivers, and wish the paddles would go next. Shifting is a very large part of driving the car.
And to create a REAL sequential paddle setup that works like that, you will spend as much as the tC costs since those are a computer controlled manual gearbox, not a cheapo automatic with a paddle system like 99% of cars with flappy paddles have.

That was my nice, practical response in his last thread. It takes a LOT of work and know how to make them work right (using a manual gearbox). So the other option that is more realistic for a person to do (and still takes work) would be to take an auto tC and put paddles on it.. so it would still be a slow shifting slushbox with paddles on the wheel
Just like most cars that have them.
damm pete, i wish id have seen that thread ur talkin about!! LOL
My IS300 has shift buttons on the steering wheel, sometimes i get all excited and say "hey let me use it" i take off, shift twice, then say to myself, "what i great idea that was"
LOL
biggest waste of finger movement on cars that dont have dual-clutch slush boxes
