Are there vendors that offer a built-up (300+ HP) engine for the Scion tC that I could swap (plug and play)?

I see that they sell performance short blocks. What I'm looking for is a complete 2AZ-FE, already tuned, horsepower numbers measured, ready to drop in, complete - "Plug and play." Preferably with a warranty.

Is this possible?

Aint gunna happen. Sounds like what youre looking for is a crate motor. Like an LSX or what not. Nothing like this exists for the tC as it was never intended to be a performance platform. All of us who have made quite a bit of power have put everything together ourselves, or in some cases paid a shop to do it. The good news however is, you can get to 300whp on stock motor. There are multiple turbo kits from vendors here that will get you to that mark for $3000-5000. No matter which way you go however, youll need some type of engine management or piggy back that will need to be tuned for your application, but all in all, you should be able to easilly reach 300whp with stock motor and under $5000.

 

None of the Performance shops will offer warranty because of the varying conditions that come with modified motors. Even though built motors can last longer than OEM engines when built properly.
-They can build you a long block but it won't be plug and play nor can it be pre-tuned.
-Also it won't be drop in.

Your best option is too find a local performance shop you can trust and leave your vehicle there for work.

 

Actually I was just at World Racing Motorsport today in Torrance. these are guys that work with Chris Rado and his Racing tC. I had my car serviced there because I was looking to buy their Mishimoto radiators but ended up not needing it but had other work done. anyways...when I picked up my car the sales guy Kareem (amazingly good customer service btw) showed me around their shop and I saw lots of motors so i inquired the exact thing you did.... and yes they offer short blocks and long blocks built and/or with turbo and ready to drop in.... they had like 4 racing tCs 1 Drag 1 Time Attack tC1 and 2 tC2 they were working on. They even had a customer tC1 they were working on putting in the new tC2 6 speed tranny in.

Back to the main point... I don't think many shops offer this or is willing to do this but these guys would... for a hefty price of course. but with all the cost of building it and labor cost and such...it might not be worth it to you.

Wait, did you say the 6speed from the tC2 being put into the tC1? Does it even bolt up correctly? I wonder how much this would cost in labor to get this done.....if reasonable, it could be very tempting to have done.

Also, A bolt on turbo kit will do just fine for 300 whp. Searching and reading would help this thread greatly. You won't get 300 whp on an N/A setup, and you won't need a built motor for 300 whp. It's also impossible to have a "pre-tuned" motor to swap in, since it's controlled by the ECU located under your dash. Also a dyno tune is prefered to a random tune that barely controls anything. If op is looking for a fast car, look else where, otherwise you'll need a good understanding of the car, motor, and how everything works to make it fast. This isn't an "American Muscle Car" where you can drop in a motor with a carb and have it work.
