Default Rasp and Fitment Problems *fixed*

Alright, whats your guys take on this:

stock header > cc spipe > tsudo midpipe > hks axle back

Just added cc spipe. I have never heard of an spipe causing rasp, but I have rasp now at certain rpms and when the car is not warmed up - after warm goes away partly. Is this the spipe or is there a leak somewhere now? I think its a leak, but the installer says its the spipe. I dont have an a/m header so I didnt expect rasp!

NExt up, the spipe is rattling like crazy! It vibrates on something at idle, with any engine movement and even when the road is bumpy it is banging around very loud. I can feel it through the pedals, floor, and shifter! It has the antifouler mod on it, could it just be the sensor hitting now?

I also have hotchkis front sway, could it be hitting the sway? Who has hotchkis front sway and cc spipe, do you have this problem?

I'm just frustrated and hate driving my car like this. Do other spipes rattle with this sway? I'm just trying to get down the problem and would like to know others experiences, thanks!

edit: spipe changed how the rest of the exhaust was sitting so adjustments were made and now no more rattling!! also with everything sitting correctly, no more exhaust leak and everything is sealed tight! so happy now haha Thanks everyone for your input and help, its greatly appreciated

add a resonator. when you start putting aftermarket parts on a 4 cylinder car, rasp is a huge problem. it's always going to sound more raspy when it's cold. i would feel around under the car (when it's cold of course) and see if the pipe is touching anything. i know i have a different car, but when i put my downpipe on it was rattling very, very loud. it was because it was hitting the heat sheild, which i just bent back a little bit and it stopped. i would try that first. but also, add a resonator somewhere, will help tons.

Why do you have the anti-fouler? That is only used with an aftermarket header.

Remove the anti-fouler. (And while you're under the car check the S-pipe bolts and fitment.) See how it sounds then.

your right and i agree with what your saying, but i have never heard of an spipe causing rasp on this car, only a/m headers. thats why i'm thinking theres a leak, i dunno. we'll see! also the midpipe already has a small resonator.

The tsudo MID PIPE is whats causing the rasp. it has a cheap resonator compared to the stock one.

the S pipe is rattling because you have the antifouler mod on it. the banging and vibrating you are hearing is the antifouler mod hitting and rapping against the suspension support.

if you don't have an A/F header the antifouler mod might be detrimental to your cars health and performance.

save the antifouler and once you get a header have another O2 bung welded above the old one.

CC s pipe are no longer made, they always had probs with fitment.

once you do get a header you will need another resonator the exact size as the one on the tsudo mid pipe, to fit it you might need to have it welded into a one piece.

If you wanna keep it a 2 piece then buy a "aeroexhaust" resonator (AR25) and have it welded in front of the one already there.

hope this helps.

thanks a lot for the info. the anti fouler is coming off, we're going to try to re-postition the pipe and maybe wrap. the guy i bought it from never had any problems so i dont understand why i am. it must be something simple...

Don't wrap the pipe i can't see any good coming from it...

he probably installed the s pipe at the same time as his header, because of this the O2 bung may have sat at a diff location(the A/F header might have a slightly longer or shorter collector) since you are using it with out an A/F header its prob sitting in a diff spot and well you know...

hmm well actually he had it with stock header too, just hadnt installed his dc header yet. he also had cc full exhaust.

i'm most worried about fitment, if we cant get it to sit right, then its gone! i think i can take care of the sound with a new gasket and some kind of sealant. i hope lol

Thats weird that he had the antifouler mod on with the stock header...

theres a guy here who made his own "L" shaped antifouler but he had a machine shop...

another option is the MMW antifouler which is 45+ ship!! this is if you don't want to have to have another O2 bung welded on.

if by rasp you mean that you have a leak..then yeah the RTV red compound is your best bet.

if its were the header meets the S pipe you won't need a new gasket, just make a new "seat" for the donut gasket with the RTV compound so the gasket sits higher and fits the S pipe tighter.

leaks in between the s pipe and mid pipe are rare but tougher to fix, you might be better off making your own gasket with a gasket kit or liquid gasket.

good luck.
