I've searched this site, Google, and several other DIY forums.

Can anyone help me identify which wire under my dash activates the backup lights? I need to this to signal a device I will be installing that the car is in reverse.

EDIT: I'm really looking for the reverse signal going to the ECU I think I found it below...

I know back up camera systems come with extra wiring to make it so you can just tap into the wiring at the taillights. You could either do that, or test the wire you think it could be with a voltimeter

 

Yeah, looks like I'm gonna have to do actual work here. I'll try and document my findings in case someone else needs it later.
