They redynoed it at 6.5hp and the being opened makes a difference unless you drive with your hood open on the road.

dyno with the hood open doesnt make that big of a difference, it helps to balance out the fact that there isnt a rush of outside air going into the cars engine bay. other companies do this too. on the road you would actually make more power becuase the dyno fan in no way can compare to 60mph rush of cool air, unless you have a wind tunnel you can dyno your car in.

Alot of companies dont dyno with the hood open, they use large fans to simulate the rushing wind.

like i said, the dyno fan will not "simulate" rushing wind, have you ever stood in front of a dyno fan? that cant even be goin 30mph. if you really wanted to simulate rushing wind you would need a wind tunnel. thats one of the reasons why everyones dynos arent the same, there are many factors in putting a car on the dyno and that simulated air is one of them. im too lazy to look for the article but in sports compact car they had somethign about dyno fans not simulating real wind.

and i didnt say a lot of companies dyno with the hood open, i said other companies do. if you really want to find out go call other companies and ask how they dyno cars lol. and as for having my hood open, being in san jose in a building at 80 degrees in doors, you do one run and you already have heat soak on the stock airbox.

That's why I never really look at dyno numbers... In the San Fernanda Vally it's a steady 100 degrees in summer... A "cold" air intake isn't going to work the same.

Good news. i called creativecompacts.com about the weapon R issue and the dude said there shouldnt be a problem having CEL light cause of this intake, but as of today Weapon R is redoing the intake for minor mistakes. This will take 10 days intill creativecompact.com will start shipping the product and recieve the better version of the Weapon R secret.

what i've heard the Weapon R is compared to the AEM V2. This weapon r packs a better punch then all the CAI available right now if you said the engine is running too lean. with the weapon r being redone and available in 10 days, i think we should have second thoughts about the intake.

I am testing the "new" versoin of the S WR intake. So far so good. We put it on the car yesterday and no CEL yet. Last time it was after less than 10 miles. We'll see after the weekend and after I put some more miles on it.

I have this intake and have had it for 5 months. After I got the final product they made a small change with the sensor placement which is what made the car throw a CEL. It was a stupid mistake, yes, but they have fixed it and what you get will be the exact same as what I have now.

Just a little info:

The intake that I originally dyno'd at 12.91 hp was NOT the same design that was dyno'd at 6hp. They increased the length of the pipes AND it had a very large (almost 90 degree) curve. They believed this curve was causing air flow to slow and also believed the sensor had to be placed differently. They moved the sensor a little farther back from the filter (as it should be) and to the side (it enters the pipe from the side instead of the top). It sounds weird and you realy don't have to take my word over anything, but i feel a VERY BIG difference in the final intake design. The torque as definately increased. I anticipate great numbers this upcoming weekend when I dyno my car with my new cat back exhaust.

Originally our dyno showed a slight loss in torque. This IMO could have been because of one or none of two things:
1. We did not run the car long to let it get used to the new intake before the dyno. This could have been an issue I dunno.
2. The intake was a prototype. It was shorter and less efficient. I could feel the lag when I accelerated, which is why I originally didn't like the intake. Now that my car is used to it and with the new design, it accelerates a lot faster.

I think that you will be impressed...especially when the cold air box is through with production. I can't wait to get one!

The original dyno was of the prototype. I only have the paper copy.
Like I said I will be dynoing my car again, but with exhaust sometime within the week.

You can purchase it through www.creativecompacts.com

Right now we are selling the intake for $180 + shipping until Feb 28th. We are able to offer the intake at this very low price because we worked with WR directly to prototype and develop this intake. We were also exclusive distributors on the intake for the first 60 days it was available to the market. Price will go up on March 1st, so order before then for the discount.
