Shifter linkage near transmission.

Shifter linkage near transmission.
I recently had a clutch installed at a shop. When I got the car back I noticed the down gears like 2nd, 4th, and reverse, I would have to pull down on the shifter really far to get it into gear, and it was really loose pulling down on the shifter. And the top gears 1st, 3rd, 5th, would be really hard and stiff to get into gear(Thats what she said!).
Then yesterday, about 2 weeks after the install, I could not get the clutch to catch reverse, like it wasn't even putting it in gear. Then I had NO gears. So i popped the hood and saw that the shifter linkage that puts the tranny in gear has actually completely broken.
Any ideas how this would have happened? Im convinced during the install it got damaged, then with me using it and trying to get it into a gear, it snapped.
Has anyone else had this problem before?

woah that sucks man, looks like you figured out what it was though.
never had this happen to me ive got 80k miles and had clutch replaced once.
i cant imagine it would just snap if nothing happend to it. something probably damaged it during the install, id go back to that shop and tell them what happened.

Im supposed to talk to them today and figure out what we need to do. The shop is like 30 mins away from me. So, Ill see what he says about fixing it.
I dont think I should have to pay for it to be fixed. That part from the dealership is like $300.
