The thread size should be the same as stock which is M12 x 1.25. The TWM shift ***** are all available here: TWM Shift *****. If you use the holiday discount code XMASTWM10 you save $10

Be sure to check out our new engraved shift ***** too: Engraved shift pattern shift *****

So I haven't seen anyone else discuss something like this, but I stopped reading around page 16 so I may have missed it.

I've got a TRD Shifter, AND picked up a NST SSK for a real good price last week.

Anyone think about combining the NST with the TRD shifter instead of the stock one? I'm just wondering how that wold affect the overall throw.

I have made my own short throw shifter it was not very difficult it has reduced the throw by an inch about 40% can make it even more if you shorten the shifter itself

I left all stock bushings the only ones i suggest to change for even stiffer throw would be the cable bushings under the hood the cage bushings will not make a difference that you can feel trust me

no need for raising the cage we have plenty of room under the cage that you can shorting the shifter with out having to raise it but you can do it to keep as close to stock height as possible

i can post pictures p.m. me if you would like to know how to do it

Installed my Dr. Isotope GearSwitcher (1.5" reduction) on Sat. Except for that damned washer and the clips on the '08+ shifter assembly, it was pretty smooth sailing. Driving experience is so much better now.

I need a new shift boot though. I hate how it is that scrunched up.

I can say that I really enjoy the TRD shifter. Like others have stated, it does not shorten the actual height, but it does significantly shorten the throws. It all depends on what you are looking for.

If it does, maybe 1/4 inch at most. I did not notice a change in the actual height, just how far I had t throw the shifter to change gears.

I think you should spend less money for any combination of drop and throw reduction you want by contacting doc ;)

The TWM short shifter is only $114.95 right now, actually only $104.95 if you use the new year discount code XMASTWM10. You can add shifter base bushings and cable bushings at a discount as well when ordered with the short shifter here: Scion tC short shifter.

You dont want to shorten the shifter bc when you shorten it it moves further away from the wheel which takes more time to shift and also if you wack a 1" off of it you also make it harder to throw

If I bought the Doc I short shifter, would it wear out the cage like the TWM ones I read about earlier in the thread? I know it uses the stock shifter(modified of course), any info would be helpful =)

No it should not wear out the cage bc all he is doing is moving the shifter ball up and taking some thread off the top the and more then likely the only reason they are panted black is so you don't see the heat marks (it will wear off) u have to heat it to move it with the press (or air hammer)

Thanks for the info.

Another question, in the image up top(looks like a momo shift-****), that height seems perfect, anyone care to estimate its height or confirm? looks like a 1.5/2 drop in height.
