Default still loud

so here is my set up. weapon R header- S pipe, meagan mid pipe with HF cat, Tanabe concept G exhaust. after adding the HF cat the rasp is not so bad but the exhaust is still pretty loud for my taste. the guy at the muffler shop said that even tho i add a resonator it will be the same. So my Q is... is the meagan resonator crap or should i get another exhaust. the concept G looks pretty nice but i think it is loud b/c it is a straight through exhaust so thats why its loud. If i replace the meagan resonator( the longer one) with a aero 25 will it quit it down? i don't want play hit and miss anymore with the exhaust. just want to get some real world experienced set feed backs. thanks in advance for any feed back.

put your stock midpipe with a HF cat and resonator, it will still be loud because of the headers but not as much as before.

I wouldnt say the resonators on the megan mid pipe are crap, but it prob would be a bit quiter if you put a larger one in the place of the two, or even maybe a glass pak. But I dont think thats your prob. I would say its the Tanabe concept G thats causing it to be loud. I know they advertise its a quiet muffler, but maybe you should try an oval style muffler. Something thats not straight through.

I would say the larger one is 18"..... im not 100% sure though. Something like this would prob work:
http://www.sfxperformance.com/parts/VIB1793.htm

I dont know how much better the sound would get though. I would really look into getting a more quiet muffler. The round, straight through, tube style mufflers are always louder than the oval ones. Well maybe not always but usually. I have the Greddy SP2, and in 5th gear on the highway, you barely even hear it. You barely hear it ever, unless accelerating.

would a SP2 be more quiet than a concept G?
i feel that the SP2 design is almost the same as the TRD. would the SP2 be better sounding than the TRD with header and mid pipe. i have someone that might sell me or trade me for a SP2. think it's worth it?

I think it would be more quiet than the G. The overall design is similar to the TRD axel-back, but a much better quality and sounding exhaust. The TRD sounds like pooh with a header installed before it. A friend of mine had the TRD muffler with a megan header, and changed it because the rasp was ridiculous.

For the trade, I would say yes. If its an even trade, go for it. You dont have much to loose. You dont like the sound of what you have right now anyway. Im telling you, I have the SP2, and its by far the quietest exhaust Ive ever owned. Its still louder than stock, but I was amazed how toned down it was when i first installed it. I would give it a shot.

It's the internet. Sarcasm doesn't usually work unless it's blatantly obvious.

so i switched out the Concept G and now running the SP2. i have to say that it is real quiet. just the way i like it. For me.. i felt that i was loosing power with the concept G because it felt like i was making more noise then speed. now there is a perfect balance of rumble and speed. i know it's just in my head.

Glad to hear that. I knew the SP2 would work out for you.
