Default tC Oil Cooler? Will it work? Does it?

Ok, so I have here an item I found on ebay
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HIGH-...QQcmdZViewItem
now its an oil cooler for the tc for like $300.

Question. Does an oil cooler help the tC? What conditions would it be needed? Will it work? And why is it so expensive and it might not take our oem filter?

Thanks to all future reply posters.

Ok, the tC's engine is designed to work for many thousands of miles without an oil cooler. All the gaskets, rings, tubes, pumps, whatever.......they're all designed to operate without fail at these temps. That being said......The use of an oil cooler WILL cool your oil. Yes! It does work. Not only does it work, but it works very well! However.....keeping your oil cool, and therefore keeping your internal components cool, can acctuall damage the parts more then not having an oil cooler. See.......the parts in your engine are designed to operate at x temp. If you lower that temp(x-?) then the parts can actually become brittle and may be prone to more damage then without being cooled.
Ok.......all that being said........
The tC's stock engine doesn't really need an oil cooler. The entire engine system (including the oil) has it's own cooling system. It's called (without being a jerk)....."The cooling system". It's designed to keep the tc's entire engine, engine oil, pistons, rings, gaskets, whatever at there optimum temprature.
I don't know how many hours of calculations went into the design of the tc's motor, but i know that one of the basic rules of cars is that the engine is only as good as the cooling system. I'm sure that every part in the tc's engine was designed to operate at the temps that it's actually going to be exposed to. That being said.........
There are uses for oil coolers! Usually high performance engines. You may still want one. In that case.......I've never installed one, so I don't have too much info for ya. Sorry. I know the basics behind them however.
As far as the oil filter not fitting..........................I have no idea.
Good luck!

a forced induction motor would benefit as the temps tend to get a bit higher, but for a stock tC, not required.

spend your money elsewhere.
