Ok so.. I switched from Mobil 1 5w-30 To Mobil 1 5w-20 recently, I doubt thats an issue. But, my Check Engine Light has come on. And theres alot more noise coming from the valve train. But the car feels a little more peppy. Is there something wrong with the noise? Im asking if tC's are supposed to be a noisy, aside from cold starts lol. And I have no idea what the code is i havent had it read yet.

 

how close together are all these events? if they are very close together, it sounds like there could be a strong correlation.

 

id say about 2500 miles apart..

 

they are a little loud but using 5w20 shouldn't be causing it. have your code read and go from there. also check the oil level.

 

ok, so i got the code read and it was the maf sensor (all he would tell me) but its gone out and i have the fujita intake. i know i know search button.

 

Go to autozone and get the code the y will give you a print out, but an MAF gone out that quick is weird I would check your wiring.

 

do you have a k&n type of filter on it? the oil might have killed it. you can try to clean it but i doubt that will work.

 

Fujitas are notorious for screwing up MAFs. It could have been a little water or oil. Do you use an oiled filter?

 

it wasnt oiled and i never oiled it. the lights out now..

 

I would get some di-electric cleaner and spray it down and let it dry for a good hour to be on the safe side

 

the oil you're running now is a lighter thinner, but not by much, and unless you have alot of miles shouldn't matter, as you add miles, you want to step up the thickness of your oil to make up for components wearing out and what not, but in case i sould def check the oil level first and if it doesn't go away, replace it with what you were running before
