technically you can be pulled over for any exhaust heard from 50ft. or more. At least that is the way it is in MD. It is a police officer's discretion really. Look up the vehicle code in NH.

**edit, it looks like you have the option to appeal any ticket you get for exhaust noise under the 95 decibel exemption. You have to prove that the car is under 95 decibels.

There is a lot of info on google if you type in "New Hampshire exhaust noise standards"

thats cuz MD cops are tools, and have nothing else to do. but i had been pulled over twice in my tC for my exhaust, asked him for his decibal meter, and he left me alone (cuz they don't have them)

Do cops still pull people over for exhaust noise? I thought that ended with the fast and furious craze slowing down a little bit recently.

Im not sure about Injen SES but my HKS exhaust w/ injen intake can not be detected when im cruising. The only time you can hear it is when you get on the gas like 1/2 way or more or when you release the gas pedal while your in gear. The trick is to depress the gas pedal as little as possible while maintaining a constant speed. This way you wont get any crap whatsoever from cops.

i got pulled over three times and got a fix it ticket finally. They said i could apeal it if i went back to stock. So i went the same day home, changed it in 30 min. then got the ticket revoked the next day. then put the intake on again lol

You will get pulled over. I have a Megan exhaust header and s-pipe and the car is super loud. It's almost annoying. I have put a Magnaflow resonator and cat in the mid-pipe and it's still very loud.

and you wonder why cops are "tools" to you. They are your best friend when you get in trouble, but then you talk $hit on them on your internet board.

It is illegal to make your exhaust louder than stock or factory installed equipment, period. But it is to hard for cops to know what is factory and aftermarket since the two are almost blurred lately. Example an srt4 or a roush mustang is as loud or louder than my injen and they are stock. I think the limit for sound on the street is 91 db in CA not sure anywhere else.

I just depress the gas pedal a bit and the sound drowns out to nothing when passing police.

When I do get pulled over, I've always gotten off with warnings or "Have a nice day"s since I have a USAF ID (I got a great story about a "Have a nice day" in NJ, long story short, he paced me on a seperate highway for 2-3 miles trying to keep up, I think I was cruising around 120mph).

This car isnt too bad if you keep your eyes open and don't be a loser is residential areas. I got pulled over in a buddy's FC-RX7 once because the police officer behind me couldn't hear his radio over my idle.
