We're still getting poked by TRD if we ever were. These rumors have to come from somewhere and most of them that last will have come from a TRD employee that doesn't really know. And rumors abound.
Sure, a tC can pass a hopped up neon but we want to hang with an SRT4. We can't do that without forced induction. The SRT4 is a factory performance car and the supercharged tC would have been in a good position to compete with that. And the tC is nowhere there.
BTW, the 350z TT is FAST.

get a life people, the freaking SC will come out, and it will put MORE hp under the hood, and people WILL buy it....regardless of how you are percieving it now....the fact remains , it is a forced induction power increase, that is covered under warranty...str8 up...it DOES suck it keeps getting delayed , but thats life, TRD wants to make sure it is daily drivable, we dont want a bunch of candy **** whiny beetches like u all complining when your SC blows the head gasket, and tears up your internals , now do we? The scion owner is a VERY discerning customer, they are perfecting the product, and waiting fopr the carb legality to make it street safe and street legal.

Now, for reliability the 350 is below par... alignment issues that they wont fix, and I cant wait to see the electrical issues they have. I know two mechanics that are already thinking of turning down all nissans due to their messed up designs. I helped one troubleshoot an electrical issue, and coming from an electronic engineering background I can tell you they were on crack with some of their ideas... relays running relays of identical size, the worst and most in-accurate wiring diagrams I have every come across, etc...
But, you cant really bash the 350 too much on its power output.
The delays on the SC I can handle.. the miscommunication is annoying.. but I was patient with them.. just gives me more time to save more money. And if it puts out 50 WHP or more I may consider it. But if not, I will spend my money wisely on a turbo. I for one am not some candy **** that will go running to Scion when it breaks. My motto is that if you cant fix it when it breaks, dont build it or dont b!tch when it does break. And certainly dont run to the the dealer when you blow up your motor with forced induction. That is part of knowing what you are doing and taking responsibility.

The SRT4 that was what i ment when I said "hopped up Neon" I was kind of hoping TRD in wich the latter half stands for RACING DEVELOPMENT would do alot better then this ... yes I like my tC very much but at this point i'm kidding myself
I don't have the no how to slap in a turbo, I will never be able to reach 250 bhp with the S/C and the warrentee in tact, My dealer promised me performance the tC is a good deal but it is not a performance car.
BTW, the 350z TT is FAST.

this is the BIGGEST controversey ive seen with tC owners,
to get TRD s/c or not??
hmmm.....
if u want to be covered under warranty/have some O.K. power/have safe daily driver
get the s/c
if u want mad power/dont like warranty/run 12-13's all day long, then by all means get ur turbo kits-heads-,etc....
the TRD s/c was meant to add some OK power to the engines, and be covered under warranty. it wasn't meant to be running 13's at the track, at all....
I PERSONALLy think the s/c is a waste of money, and i could outrun a s/c tC with less money spent, but different strokes for different folks, ya know
who cares about who heard wut......i have contacts at toyota, so do many others...doesn't mean i can get a str8 answer out of anyone
to each their own!!

The PERFORMANCE COUPE is not the fast model. Even the $27,000 base model has 287 HP. The Track model and the anniversary model have 300 HP. I love my tC... and contrary to some whining I have heard it has a lot of good potential.. but come on... 287 HP stock in a RWD car is pretty nice for $27000. Like I said, given the issues with them and some other nissans I wouldnt buy one... but they still kick a$$ driveability wise.

P.S.
Put an aftermarket exhaust on your tC and then blow a head gasket and see if Toyota REALLY COVERS IT, I bet they weasel out!!!
Put an aftermarket exhaust on your tC and then blow a head gasket and see if anyone will ever stop laughing at you again.
Unless you're saying an exhaust will warrant a reason for Toyota not to repair the blown gasket? If so, sue.

Well if you don’t like the Z try an EVO (my local scion service rep drives an EVO VIII), WRX or STI save your money to tune one of those babies
Personally TRD SC can suck it. With the amount of delays it's just means they didn't have the for thinking that we all had been told. The SC was just a good idea, and may make it on someones car in the next year or two. The gas prices the way they are, who would want to spend 3.50 on super on a car that still won't break 0-60 under 5 and still won't make a good lap car. Want a sports car, buy a sports car. The TC doesn't handle like one, take it to the track you'll see... why start off with something so raw.
