TOYOTA SUPERCHARGER DELAYED ONCE AGAIN!!!!!
I saw the TRD SC in person last night at Scion Night. The guy said it's coming out in two months and will be $2900 without labor. He said it puts out 203 at the crank. He also said that they originally had it pushing out 230 at the crank but it would not pass smog. I know you've heard it all before, but I thought I'd let you know.

I then inquired about the TRD supercharger for the tC and had told him of the Email i recieved from them about 2 months ago in reply to my original inquiry about the S/C to which they replied ETA is Sept. Well the gentlemen on the phone from TRD said that he had just finished installing one a day ago and that the S/C will indeed be released before the end of the month (sept.) I then proceeded to ask him how much power does it add if he knew and he replied that he didnt have concrete numbers but that his butt o meter was saying that a substantial amount of increase in power was produced and I then asked him if he knew the amount of boost that would be produced from the system to which he replied that he hadnt had a boost meter/guage hooked up but that the system runs between 5 and 7psi of boost. my final question was for a part number if they had one avalible to which he answered that he hadnt had one quite yet, but to check back in a couple of weeks. For all those who doubt my story .. here is the Phone number that you may call yourself to satisfy your curiousity. (800) 688-5912
Oh, I seriously doubt you will get an additional 20 hp from headwork without losing something. Besides, header, exhaust, and S-pipe are not smog legal, the vaporware SC will have to meet the most stringent of smog standards AND survive warranty. That's a totally different egg to crack.

This is word for word what I was told in May. Still vaporware.

mods feel free to delete this bulljive and the bulljive i'm responding to.
It's called "vaporware". The computer industry has been using this approach for a long time to acquire and keep customers. Anything you might want in a product will be available with the next upgrade Real Soon Now.
Hey, it works. Folks bought tCs even thought they didn't like the power, because they knew that the fix was the SC. Now that they've sold the cars via vaporware, why should Toyota bother with the actual SC hardware? They've already got your money!
