Transmission?
Hello,
I have a scion tc 2009 automatic, with almost 50,000 miles on it. Is there a dipstick to check the transmission fluid level for a 2009 scion tc? Also, how often should you have it changed/flushed? It seems like whenever my car changes gears from 2nd to 3rd it is seems rougher than normal. Any one else ever have the problem? Thanks.

From the service manual:
1.
CHECK THE FLUID LEVEL
HINT:
Drive the vehicle so that the engine and transaxle are at the nor-
mal operating temperature.
Fluid temperature: 70 to 80_C (158 to 176_F)
(a)
Park the vehicle on a level surface and set the parking
brake.
(b) With the engine idling and the brake pedal depressed,
shift the lever into all positions from the P to the L position,
and return to the P position.
(c) Pull out the dipstick and wipe it clean.
(d) Push it back fully into the pipe.
(e) Pull it out again and check that the fluid level is within the
HOT range.
If there are leaks, it is necessary to repair or replace O–rings,
FIPGs, oil seals, plugs or other parts.
As for the changing the fluid toyota says it's a "lifetime fluid." I don't buy that so I say change it every 50k.

My trans does the same thing. After about 60k miles it started shifting hard fron 2nd to 3rd, i thought it was damage from being boosted. I changed my fluid to royal purple atf, still didnt do anything. It doesnt slip or shift hard once its warmed up. I never dealt with the problem since, i just figured the trans was going, so i went out and bought a spare.
Im at 98k miles now. 320whp, and beat on it daily, and it still shifts beautifully. Except the ocasional hard shift from 2 to 3 when its cold
