Ok everyone I installed the injen CAI and now my car whistles loudly kinda like a turbo but without the power to back it up. I check all my clamps today and everything appeared to be tight, but my car still whisltes... it whistles more than my 5.0 explorer does. Is this common amoung 4 cycle cars with intakes. I don't think it is becuz all the video clips on here I do not hear what mine sounds like. So I grab my camcorder and try to mimic it and the video camera does not pick the sound up that well. Is this something I should worry about or do you think that with an exhaust the problem would be fixed since more air is coming in and more air is also going out?

Same as you. The other video cameras dont pickup the sound either. Everyone on here that has a cai can tell you the "turbo"ish sound is normal.

 

alright thats good now all i need is a "real" turbo and everything would be good

put a wash cloth over your lips, and make a whistle sound except suck in real fast.. thats why it whistles..

 

it whistles even with the stock airbox... the intake just makes it more audible.

 

^^ yep.. I noticed it when I test drove the car.. even noticeable from a car away.. the CAI just amplifies it

I guess that I am just too old and don't hear anything at all..

 

it only does it at lower rpms when accelerate or backing off the accelerated so I did not know. But like I said there is absolutely no whistle when getting on the throttle hard. Thanks everyone I just wanted to make sure everything was alright.

 

yeah, it is usually at about 2500 rpm when only partially opening the throttle.

 

i hear mine all the time.... with the throttle all the way down it just HOWLS
