There was no gasket for the header / s-pipe end or included with the new pipe only for the rear section. Yeah i figured i should reuse the springs and got the one bolt in just couldnt get the second to line up no matter what i tried.

Ahhh this keeps getting worse... Now i have my check engine light coming on. Is this normal considering I have stock header? All i changed was the S-pipe. Could it be the one missing bolt / possible exhaust leak causing this ? Sounds like a leak cuz its a bad buzzing type sound from the front end. Got to get this worked out or im gunna go back to stock s-pipe.

All we can say is we do not know. All the pipes are bent the exact same. One guy has no problem and the next does. We got one back from a customer took it straight out of the box and in installed in on my tC with no problem. If there is a problem we have no problem saying hey we screwed up, this is how you fix it. We have done that before and I am sure that it will happen again. We are all only human.

We always stand behind our product and will always allow you to return the product. We sell a lot of these and it appears that the incidents are isolated. At first we assume installation error but we are not sure. We do not want to say that they are being installed wrong but we are very unsure as to why this is an issue.

We move the 02 back so that the S-pipe will not throw a CEL. We have never had one create a CEL we would be interested to know what the code is that you are throwing.

We always continue to deign and produce cutting edge products for the tC and we will continue to look into this problem and keep all updated as we uncover anything new.

Thanks

We looked at an S-pipe that got sent back to us here is the deal……

Look at your slip flange that goes to the manifold, where the bolts go through on the flange there should be evidence of machining on the outer edges. If there is not you will not be able to install this, the flange is not wide enough by approx 1/8 inch. You need to drill out these flanges just a little bit. You really can’t go to far so there is a lot of room for error. We can do this for you if you would like to send it back.

The easiest way to do this is either with a dremel and a sanding bit or a drill bit. This should only take a few minutes. If you have any questions please feel free to give us a call.

In the first round of the s-pipe ordeal I did this, see thread https://www.scionlife.com/forums/vie...r=asc&start=25

And it DID make the flange mate with the alphawerks header, however version one of the ZPI s-pipe I recieved didnt clear the oil pan thus I couldnt connect the other side.

But now I have rev2 or version alphwerks from ZPI and I love it, now I just need to weld me in my 22" magnaflow resonator and I should be all done with my exhaust setup.

Besides the minor problems the S-pipe is awsome. It looks like its a royal pain in the pooper to make.

ZPI, is the o2 bung far enough back where you won't need a anti-fouler even if you have a header and the s-pipe?

i also have the revised s-pipe, it fit great, the only problem i ran into was the bolts that connect to the mid-pipe where too thick to fit through, it wasn't a big deal i just happened to have nuts that fit the stock bolts. i am also throwing a CEL, but i think my friends little brother may have touched it while i was under the car and asked him to hand it to me. i'm going to take my car in for an oil change today and i'll have them read the code. over all i'm impressed with the s-pipe the only problem i ran into was the bolts.

ZPI just incase you were wondering (you said you wanted to know what the code was) when i took it to the dealership they said the o2 was fine, they cleared the codes cel went away, about 35 miles later the CEL came back on. so i'm guessing it's throwing the same code it throws because the precat is removed.
