i heard that the 06 superchargers weren't made as good as the 07-09 series..is this true? i wonder what justifies trd charging 1000 more for the 07-09 supercharger when all you have to do is swap headers with an 06..hmmm

i wonder if they will void warranty if something goes wrong cuz technically it's not for 07+ tc and 05~06 sc has different part # n etc. and idk if the dealership will even install it in 07+ cuz they always give u bs.

I asked my dealer if I still will have warranty on the powertrain and they said yes. I installed the s/c myself, I wouldnt think they would install it. But then again the dealer will do whatever you want them to do as long as you pay.

Knowbody knows for shure on the difference besides the supercharger brackets(thats why you have to swap headers). Everything else is speculation.

yeah i know everything i've heard is speculation..but what i've heard so far was that there is supposed to be an oil feed to the bearings so that they last longer on the 07-09 because the 06 version doesn't have that so it doesn't last as long that's why everyone says it doesn't last 50,000 miles...i've also heard that they use ceramic ***** in the bearings (but you can always buy that when they finally go out) but it still doesn't justify the 1000 increase...

i guess the only thing to justify you would buy the 07-09 charger is because when they do inspections at the referee if ever you get sent there for a fix it ticket they will fail you because the supercharger is not year specific to your car...and that can be a hassle..but it still bugs me about the price difference wish someone could shed some light..lolz

How is it more solid? explain? Unless the bearings are different then it doesn't matter what shape/size the bracket is.

which all boils down to crappy bearings, doesn't have to do anything with the "redesign" 05-06 that change the bearings before they go and damage the shaft, should be lasting just as long. Besides the newer ones are still too new and i don't think i see as many people having them. I have heard of problems with the new ones also.

okay i found one significant advantage from using the 05-06 charger...it seems the 07-09 have a anti tampering device on the pulley that people swap with the nst 9.5 or 12 pulley making it harder to modify. courtesy of scikotics forum

The 05-06 kit that I installed on my 07 has a anti tampering device also but since I installed it myself I did not put it on.
