it wouldn't be syncros, as once you are in gear they wouldn't make noise... bad syncros will cause either hard going into gear or it will pop out of gear.... does this noise happen in every gear?? I have seen wheel hop damage a planatary gear set in an automatic transmission so yeah wheelhop is never good lol... Have you looked under your car at all??

well good time though, and the WOT BOX keeps looking better and better!!!

So I jacked the car up to look for anything broken. Im assuming this is my rear motor mount. As you can see from my crappy camera phone pics, there is a bolt missing and the left flange is bent

I hope this is the only thing I broke

as soon as I take off in 1st, you can hear something rubbing. it almost sounds like when you rub when the car is too low, but you can also hear a loud metal banging noise. I wouldnt be surprised if it was my tranny.

Something is for sure broken, ill take it to a shop in 2 weeks to have it fixed, I just need to get another check in
sound exactly my rear mount when it wasnt bolted/installed right..

Does anyone think I can just get the left bracket straightened out, or do I need to buy a whole new mount?

I can't really imagine that being related. We've never heard of that before...

But, if you have a turbo, the 2-step could enable you to launch harder, especially if you are on slicks. But, adding more power through another mod would do the same thing. So, I guess if you have motor mount issues, then you might want to get those resolved before trying a hard launch on slicks.

You might want to look into filled mounts or solid mounts when you start adding lots of power... That should help with the wheel hop, which might be what caused the motor mounts to break.

lol its shouldnt be related unless the mount is bad in the first place.. its actually the axles that should go first before the mounts

if you think about it, if the bolt snapped it would have absorbed tension therefore not allowing hte left side of the mount to bend.

now, if the bolt came off at one point the bolt would cause a one sided tension and bend the mount

Ya that does sound like the case

And the WOT Box wouldn't cause the motor mounts to fail directly, but its more of the case of user error.

I set my 2-step too high, and even when I heard weird noises coming from the car, I decided to stay on it till the end of the run, so the broken mount is my fault

My SRT-4 had terrible wheel hop like that until I filled the motor mounts with flexane. Now I just spin the tires...

I think the filled motor mounts are a good compromise between reducing wheel hop and drivability. Solid motor mounts would probably do a better job of reducing wheel hop, but they are much harsher vibration wise. The filled mounts are somewhere in between...

That's hilarious. We might have to put that on our new packaging.
