Default Boosted tC running Descendant racing turbo kit w/ built motor....

with all the research ive been doing.....i always seem to find 07trdtc, ElevationTC, brett561tc, on threads with great turbo builds and doing amazing things with turbo tc's....

Guys i have a built engine and running the descendant racing v2 turbo kit....im tryn to be one of the "big dogs" lol....i have been running into a lot of issues with my car since day 1...but im not giving up, i am going to finish my car.

First off im running the aem fic for managment.....im having problems finding someone that can give me a good tune...the last time it was on the dyno the tuner told me that the turbo i have is big and the car wants to make power at high rpms and having the stock rev limit is hurting me....currently the car is around 320whp @12psi and doesnt feel like it...the tires barely seem to "break loose"....the car feels good 3rd and 4th gear but 1st-2nd it seems not to be boosting....kinda feels like a N/A car in 1st and 2nd....no power out the hole....can it be a tuning problem??? ive gone through everything and i dont see any problems with the install of the turbo it...oh and im also running the AEM TRU boost controller, should i ditch the electronic and go manual boost controller???.....PLEASE any help would be very much appreciated....i really wana get my car to the track this year.....THANKS!

if you think it's the tune i would take the trip to dezod and they'll fix you up right. your turbo doesn't look too big to have no power on the low end, but with out knowing exactly i don't know either. Where did you get it tuned at?

what is your exhaust set up?

why only 12 pounds on a built motor?

if it's just the standard t3/t4 that comes in the V2 you should have no problems making power in the low end.

I have the Descendant Racing 3" inch full exhaust....and we stopped at 12 psi because it got late....and the tuner said to me that the car was dropping 1-2 psi at high rpm which was dropping the torque....and u sure its a t3/t4?....keep in mind i got the new kit which came with everything V-band....

yes thats what they sell the kit with i think its a .53trim .62A/R.

I would cheack for boost leaks those worm clamps are notorious for breaking and coming loose

the stock airbox is also probably starving you.

For 12psi and a 3inch exhaust thats a little lower then what i think has been expected to be the norm for the tC.

Like said before check for boost leaks and if you can send ElevTC your maps and some of your logs if you can. The FIC is great for lower psi motors but eventually it will not meet the needs for higher boost motors. Start looking for an Emanage Ultimate in the classified so you can raise your red-line and get rid of fuel cut.

ok i talk to someone from Descendant and he told me to check my timing. He also told that the turbo is a .55trim and if i run the part number off the turbo on the precsion web site i can get all the info i need. im going in the garage right now to check the timing because i had someone install my stock cams back in and i might be a tooth off....so i will be back with an update and i will list everything about my set up. Also does anyone kno how high in boost i can go with a AEM FIC and where can i find a MAF adapter pipe to remove my stock air box?...thanks for your input!
