yes. if your car was tuned with the bpv backwards, do not go into boost at all after you turn it around. the car will need to be retuned. i highly suggest going to dezod and having paul give it the once over.

this car has some serious potential just a few little things and you will be up to speed.

one thing i would want to do is see if there is any resistance when the turbine is spun. you can check by taking your intake tube off the turbo and just give it a little spin by hand also you can check the turbo for damage itself.

Hey guys....hope all had a good Memorial Day weekend. i havent been on because ive been partying all weekend. So i did some work to the car tryn to go over everything.... yesterday i took it for a quick ride and the car does show boost in 1st and 2nd, what i did was fix the diverter valve and took the air filter out from the stock air box....i actually saw boost climb to 17psi!!! i let off QUICK....lowered the boost and got it around 10-12 psi...then i thought i had fuel cut kick in because under boost the car would start breaking up so i kept it out of boost and brought it home...Today i realized that i was running out of gas (my friend broke my fuel Float when installing my Walbro, so gas light stays on)....so then i put some gas and took it out again...now i have a new issue...when i turn the car on my f.p.r is at 40psi and after i drive it i would check it again and some times its down 5 or 10 psi....i checked everthing and theres no leaks...Also the car doesnt want to boost more than 4-5 psi even if i run it off the wastegate with no boost controller....i brought it to my buddy's house and we kinda did a boost leak test and came up with no leaks...i put the boost controller back on and turned up the boost and still only 4-5psi....but i dont understand how i would only get 4-5psi running off of the wastegate with a spring i belive is either 12 or 14psi....any ideas???

Also does anyone kno how high in boost i can go with a AEM FIC and where can i find a MAF adapter pipe to remove my stock air box?...thanks for your input!
We carry an intake system that replaces the OEM Air Box.

What did you "kinda" do to boost leak test? When you took off the boost controller to let the wastegate regulate did you allow the top fitting to vent to atmosphere? I made the mistake of plugging the top hole of my Turbonetics Evolution wastegate once which I believe was the direct result of restricting my boost to 3psi on a 5psi spring. Good luck!

Ok...so no difference putting the air filter on. And the top port of the wastegate is open(not plugged). So i put the boost controller back on got to see about 7-9 psi but boost was very incosistant. And i had to turn the boost up alot to see a difference like 5-6 full turns on a TurboXS manual controller. Also i cant figure out why my fuel pressure keeps dropping...i do smell fuel but i see no leaks....

you sound like you are in over your head with this car. there's no shame in taking the car to a professional tuner. it may save the life of your built motor.

i'd look in to the replacment intake. you're going to have to get it re-tuned with the replacment seeing as you're sucking in more air.

i'm surprised you're not seeing a change in boost with the stock air box.

what do you mean by this? are you venting the top banjo fitting to atmosphere? cause thats not how my mbc and tial wastegate are setup. i have a line running from the vacuum block to the mbc inlet, then a line running from the mbc outlet to the bung on the top of the wastegate. then i have another line running from the vacuum block straight to the bung on the side of the wastegate.

try getting your vacuum lines set up this way and see if that makes a difference.
