Exclamation Calling all Supercharger owners!!!!

Alright guys and gals. This should be pretty easy...

--We are trying to gather some information about your TRD Superchargers. This is what were looking for.

*What year?

*Possibly Miles on it?

* Have you had any problems with it? If no, just say no problem.

* If so what kind and how many times have you had this problem?

-- What were doing: We are trying to gather some Data about the unit. A friend of mine is considering a class-action suit against Toyota for knowledgeably selling a faulty product.
This may benefit you, specially if you have had the hassle of dealing with dealerships trying to change your unit or with Scion themselves.

I think its time that we need take action to this problem. If you have any friends that have owned one or are currently running the unit. Please let us know if they have had any issues or not.

We appreciate your responses.

T and J

I own a 07 scion tC have around 35,000 miles on it i previously got my 3rd supercharger. since i have gotten the new one i have out close to 2000 miles on the car and still running good........the first time it had to be replaced was because the supercharger was leaking oil and the transmission seal was leaking (don't know if that has anything to do with the s/c)...... my second recently went they had to replace the oil line, supercharger, and belt. they said the problem with the belt was because of the shaft being uneven which was causing the belt moving side to side by the time i noticed there was about a 1/4 of the belt was missing on the width......hopefully i wont have any problems with this one either

2005/2006 TRD Supercharger has more issues then the 07/08 superchargers.

Own: 2006 Scion TC
Replaced my first 05/06 supercharger unit after 60k miles when brackets on pulley and transmission side broke. Apparently toyota was aware of the transmission bracket being weak and came out with a replacement part. Airbox clamp on 05/06 units will not stay shut.

07/08 supercharger revised version is improved with one less idler pulley, tranmission bracket improved, airbox clamps fixed.

Currently on my second supercharger which costs came out of my pocket. I am very disappointed in TRD and the quality I expected from them. I consider it a joke that these brackets which are made of metal somehow break and crack.

2006 Scion tC
1st Generation S/C
Installed at 40,000
Main Seal Broke at 56,000
Replaced under factory warranty
2nd Generation S/C
Installed at 56,000
Still going at 62,000

Thank you for pursuing a lawsuit, because I think I can say for just all about all the S/C owners that it is an inferior product with defiantly poor construction, especially for a auto performance department (TRD).

bought it supercharged, didnt have any problems till i decided to upgrade bearings, they exploded not even 500 miles later, it was probably from improper installation, needless to say, it destroyed the impeller and housing.

2nd supercharger, seal gave out, replaced seal, now the bracket holding it down is broken in two, seal is leaking again, no probs with bearings yet, but its only been on for about 20k miles... im taking it off, either returning to stock or going turbo.

highly suggest not going with the supercharger.
