Calling all Supercharger owners!!!!
I must still be subscribed to this thread because I got an email saying someone commented...
I've been out of the S/C tC game for quite sometime now but from time to time I think about how cool it would be to still have that super charged scion as a beater car when I'm not driving the 5.0. It was a zippy little ride.
Anyways... all is not lost bro. This was very common for the TRD SC's to wear out their pulley side bearings and I felt at the time like this was catastrophic. I cannot begin to tell you how simple it is to repair these superchargers. If i knew then what I know now I may have never gotten rid of the car. Your shaft is most likely fine. Odds are the 2 bearings on the pulley side are not gonna completely lock up if drive fairly normal till its fixed, so you have time. Not sure how mechanically inclined you are but its pretty simple to pull the shaft off without removing the actual supercharger scroll from ur engine. Take the shaft to ur local machine shop and have them press out the old bearings and press in the new. If you lived close to me I'd do it for ya cuz i work in a machine shop at a research center and we do this stuff alllllllll the time.
Hope I could help. There should be a couple of how tos on this forum you could dig up if you get stuck but trust me its a very simple operation.

I bought my 05 tc supercharged already with 86k miles, not sure how many on the s/c but it's the second one under warranty from a previous owner - had no clue about the issues that followed it. Daily driver packing on about 30 miles a day but I drive fairly conservatively. 5 months later, bearings went out and used the tcsuperchargers.com kit along with an idler pulley. 8 months later, crazy squealing from the pulley side = wound up needing two new idler pulleys (that's right, one of them wasn't even a year old) and a belt tensioner. Now everything's fine, but noticed rattle seemed louder than normal at idle (around 600rpm). Waiting on the superchargedscions.com bearing kit to arrive next week-ish, hopefully that works out well.
