Default Flywheel

Anyone have a slightly lighter flywheel than the stock. Because I know I wont be racing my car daily, Im like most its my everyday car, and I dont want to have that ligther flywheel and spend that money when I shouldnt have to. If you have a good flywheel, where did you get it from and who here just uses the stock flywheel?

Most people are buying the Fidanza Flywheel. Its also good to upgrade your clutch at the same time.

Default Clutch Masters

Clutch Masters has an aluminum flwheel that weighs about 10 lbs.

Both the Fidanza and the Cluthch Mansters seem to be reliable and decent for daily driving.

The lightened flywheel helps to lessen the throttle delay too. Only downside to the flywheel is the install price. Most people don't have the facilities to take out their tranny. That's the only thing that is keeping me from buying the flywheel. I just don't have the facilities to take out my tranny.

Lightened flywheels help with wheel spin but takes away from top end speed.

You're wrong it doesn't take away from top end speed.

Facilities? All you need is a house with a garage man.

Running the ZPI lightweight flywheel here. Weighed it before installing, and it came in right at 9 lbs. Daily driveability was not effected. The flywheel is noticeable when you race it.

I have the ZPI flywheel as well. My recommendation is that you get the flywheel, street/strip clutch (both from ZPI) and Quaife LSD. Get all of that and have it all installed at the same time. That way, you'll never have to go back and have it redone (unless u burn out ur clutch)... Also, the flywheel doesn't GIVE you more HP, it just lets you get to your powerband faster. Same with a lite crank pulley.

So does an aftermarket clutch like a clutchmasters, act or spec not come with a flywheel at all? Thy use the stock flywheel?
Or would you buy a clutch and a flywheel but end up not using the flywheel that comes with the clutch?

^^Clutches don't COME with flywheels. Two separate parts, that require two purchases. But you can continue to use your stock Flywheel and an aftermarket clutch if you want.

I got the clutchmasters one, and it says it has a replaceable friction plate or whatever its called... I cant seem to find where I would get that, so that when I need it I have it.

Any idea as to where I can get it?
