Default forced induction guys might know the answer

I was wondering if the TC 2.4 has a timing belt or a chain.I just picked up a tc ,and its a fine ride,flint mica 5speed,wing and foglights to come.Guy at work just picked up a black sand pearl with auto.we were wondering if the motor has a chain or a belt,as i had a scion XA AND THE LITTLE 1.5 HAS A CHAIN ! any of you forced induction guys been in the motor yet ? or know for sure what the 2.4 has...........thanks for the info tom

I'm 99.99% sure that the tC has a timing chain, not a timing belt. In fact, I think most car manufacturers are going back to timing chains for some reason.

The reason for going with a timing chain.. is they last longer...

Ahh. I'm sure chains have their own issues though. I know the chain on my brother's motorcycle is a constant nuissance for him (and me when he goes to grease, replace, repair, etc.)
