yeah...kinda cool however there are little plastic pieces that help "guide" the springs...dont see those lasting but it has.

 

just got back from the machine shop. I dropped off the rotating assembly. should have it back in about a week. worked all day today on disassemble and cleaning, found #1 piston was fubar'd. It didnt just crack one ring landing but demolished the first and second ring landing..lmao..thats det for ya. hopeing to have the car up and running next week.

as soon as I walked up with my parts i seen a 2az sitting in the shop floor...they get alot of the camry 2az's from around 03-05 that have stripped threads. I heard about that happening on a couple of other toyota forums but didnt know it was that bad.

no its my og crank. not polishing it...lol. yeah yeah yeah nails are pretty bad, happens when you wet sand the vc..lol

I marked everything i sent to the machine shop so nothing would get "lost"..not that i dont trust these guys, its all about C-Y-A..

 

build is looking good chris.. are you gonna build the head too?

 

not sure ace...not right away though thats for sure. I was going to do a quick rebuild on the head (replace valve stem seals and lap in the valves) but i dont want to bother with it unless i got other components to go with it (bc cams, valves, bc springs, ect)

 

Don't see the point of a built head on the tC unless we are going major hp. You can tweak it to 7k on the stock head, right?

I just got done honeing the block and painting it...#1 cyl obviously had some scoring but nothing that couldnt be fixed.

what paint did you use chris? Im thinking of painting mine too but im not sure how good those engine paints holds fine with heat
