One of the reasons TRD went with the Vortech s/c because the design allows for a more remote placement of the actual s/c unit. The types of s/c that make the noise you're looking for usually replace the intake manifold.

The s/c unit that TRD went with also have helical cut gears, which also cut down on noise. An option that I haven't seen anyone do (and I've considered) is purchasing a different s/c head unit with straight cut gears.

I would upgrade to this at a minimum:

But, if someone can get the V3 headunit to work on our cars, we wouldn't have to worry about oil problems since it has an internal oiling system built in.

really? i didnt know we could upgrade out kits.
