If you look at your intake (I am assuming you had a sheet metal intake) that hole is probably located at a start and stop point of a weld. This is common in sheet metal intake manifolds if the person welding it isn't paying close attention to the weld. The reason for this is contamination. If there is oil or contaminants on the material then when the heat comes around it pushes the contaminants to the surface affecting the weld. Aluminum should be cleaned with trichloroethylene or some sort of flammable brake cleaner (which normally contains trichlor).

As far as idling issues, a stand alone will have better control with idle and would be a good choice. I think if a tC had a 8000 rpm redline then the WR manifold would yield better results.
I agree I don't think that these manifolds although marketed to the street guy were ever intended for the average user revving to 6500 and making less than 10 psi. You would see major gains in the higher RPM where port filling becomes crucial with less and less time between events. Major boost helps as well.

Then you should get it but you won't be getting it for performance you'll be getting it so it won't explode like the plastic one will. For me I am gonna go the custom route. I already have a before dyno so i'm good.
Again I agree, however, sheet metal intakes can explode.........especially when meth, nitrous or overly rich condition takes place and there is a back fire in the manifold. I have seen this on the dyno, and it's AWESOME!!!!

youre lucky that 100 shot of NOS didnt blow the welds on the intake manifold...now me and the mad scientist have to rip apart the block and replace the piston rings you fried.

...sorry. just cant believe nobody said it yet.

i doubt it was the meth. been running meth for a while now without issue. not to mention that the aem container is plastic.

Oh I didn't know. All I saw was NY.

What I find funny is everyone says all this bad feedback on this manifold and descendant employees like (rob) no offense don't ever come on and explain and show proof of anything really all they do is post vids of Chris rado that's it.
No offense descendant your turbo kits nice and all and mad props to that but when it comes to the intake manifold 2 thumbs down. Looks nice though.

like don said, intake manifolds with large plenums and short runners really shine in the higher rpms, and with high boost set-ups. the only problem is that the only people like that on sl all hve stock manifolds.

brett: Well for the next 5-6 month at least , lol.. once i'm back i'm planning on welding my own intake manifold with short runners and testing it on 20psi and 7500RPM redline. I honestly cant justify to spend $700 on a part that's in my opinion not too hard to make if you have access to welding, different metals and autocad.
