I always see them run 14.7-14.9, they even admit on the cobalt forums stock for stock the srt4 is faster and we all know srt's run around 14.1 give or take.

If you see srt-4's run 14.1's then you should see the cobalt do right about the same, not almost a full second difference.

Check out the article and see how close they are:

http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...ecs_price.html

In one of the other pages on that comparison it beats the srt-4 in the turns.

They also said that that model srt wasn't broken in yet and they run much better times once broken in.

[quote="lundy"]I have the NST 9 psi pulley and my car is fully tuned via Unichip and puts down 250whp on pump gas but I must say that I have felt Honda's with VTEC pull harder than the S/C. I will be doing water/meth injection with 104octane on the dyno probably this weekend just to get the highest possible whp number possible and then its time to sell and go turbo with a new Tc. Just my personal opinion but centrifugal S/C's blow and I'm not talking about boost.[/quote

So you have felt the magical VTEC pull harder than your 250whp setup does? Sorry.. not gonna go for that, not even CLOSE stock. Either they were HEAVILLY modded you have some serious issues with your setup. VTEC is not some magical turbo like device. It is a system that allows for a top end performance while still keeping low end emmissions and fuel economy. It is a very good system. But dont tell me you think they pull harder than 9 lbs of boost on a car that already has more hp and tq than many of them do stock.

Naw, I wasnt trying to own anyone, just pointing out that I think he is grossly discrediting his setup. The cetrifugal is not the highest boost and widest powerband SC style, but it produces some nice power (just look at the dynos and times out with them) for what it is. I think he needs to run against a few stock hondas on the track and see that he is underestimating his setup. A lot of people bolt on stuff and expect the car to feel like it is a top fuel dragster, then get dissapointed too easilly.

Its a matter of the the power curve. Centrifugal s/c hit max boost at redline, max torque at redline and if I'm not mistaking upon or close to redline, you shift. So as soon as you get max torque you shift, thats no fun. As for turbo max torque under 4k, 2000 rpm to enjoy your power. However as far as the Hondas w/ VTEC go, I didnt say a stock or modded or swapeed car or anything, but if you would like your mind changed come take a ride in my buddy's hatch back with a K20 and then we'll let you ask yourself the question again.

BTW if my setup is soooo great let me know if you or any of friends want a car that dyno's at 250whp but feels like 150whp it will be getting sold very soon.

Better check your compression buddy. WHP is WHP unless your dyno operator is screwing with the settings. Maybe they cracked a ring while tuning on the dyno.

Ok, I have a buddy with a CX hatch with ITR everything and he runs 12's with no boost. His car also only weighs ~2200 lbs. Loose 800lbs and then complain.

Its still only 250whp at redline and 230ft./lb of torque AT REDLINE. What I am saying for those of you that dont understand is that the time when you feel the most pull is at redline. As apposed to turbo where you feel it at less than 4k. And I never said anything about the weight, gearing... Just that I have felt Hondas with VTEC pull harder.

PS: I have my Unichip and NST pulley for sale in private party classified ads for $800 obo. My car made 249whp with this setup. Sold my car without my go fast goodies, and got an S2000 (another car with VTEC that pulls harder then the TRD Tc)
