Default Idling problem

When I make sudden stops or sometimes normal stops my idle bounces back and forth from 800 to 500rpm's. When it dips to 500, the car starts to vibrate quite a bit. I'm running the turbonetics kit with an emanage blue at 8psi and thats about it.

Can you guys please help me troubleshoot and give suggestions? Your input will be greatly appreciated. thanks

Mine does the same thing sometimes.....as does many others here on SL. It seems to be quite normal and won't harm a thing. Also, it doesn't seem to be a manual vs. auto problem either, although it's a bit more pronounced in the auto cars.
Unless your car is stalling-out I wouldn't worry about it too much.

It could be your vacuum. When you apply brake pressure, it alters your vacuum a little. It'll alter it more if you have a vacuum leak somewhere.

I have a T'netics kit and it does oscillate back and forth sometimes, but not so much to where I think it'll die. I'm on the stock Unichip right now.

I would check for vac leaks, then clean the TB, and if you dont have a recirculated BOV, I would make it recirculated. My buddy was having the idle issue with his turbo until he recirculated it, and he doesnt have the prob anymore. And he also does hard stops.

Just in case you aren't familiar w/ a recirc BOV:

A bit quieter too!

when it bounces it doesnt know if it is deaccelerating or not so it cuts fuel, thats why the afr is so lean at times. This is common.

Sorry but does TB stand for Throttle Body?

the other thing that could be slightly "magifying" this normal issue with your guy's tCs is running forced induction. This flux in the rpms... mainly when coming to an idle after higher rpms is due to the VVT-i, which is prefectly normal that's how this type of valve train works. From what I've seen N/A setups aren't as noticable with that jump as forced induction setups do.

mine does the same thing, does it get less pronounced after your car has warmed up and been driven around for a while?

Ya I do mean the Throttle Body. When I had my S/C installed, it did the same thing, wouldnt idle, would die when I let off, even at 2-3k rpm. Week later took it back to the dealership to see what was up with it, and they cleaned the TB, after that its been fine.
