Default ignition timing with forced induction

I have this homemade turbo kit on my GFs car and my timing does all the way down to 13.5 at WOT at 6lbs , there isnt any audible detonation and im running water injection . the AFRs are between 11.5-12.2 , but its making me mad that the car is pulling all this timing on its own .

what are you guys/gals timing running at ?

"For tuning purposes an for the people who want to see how much Ignition Timing the Stock ECU advances, here u go."

Ignition Timing Advancement at Idle:

At 2007 RPM:

At 3167 RPM:

Hope that clears some issues with tuning for u guys. When guessing how much timing is advanced with 87 octane and with the stock ECU.

Sorry all the pictures are blurry, but my camera tends bother some times.

I was doing a CarPC project with my older xbox, but messed it up in the proccess, also using Linux was a pain in the @$$. The pics are from a laptop. Also I have a new 160F thermostat, that's why the temps are so low. Normally they would be on the 210F range. I live in PR.

hey soros , all of your numbers are just reving the car ? or is that under a load in gear ? I was really looking for say from 4500-6200 rpm with a load in 3rd or 4th gear .

I did more runs last night working on the tune and I was registering timing in the low teens under boost and I was not even getting on it at all it was like 13-15 degrees and the RPM's where not even past 3000.

I have seent a max of 34-36 advancement while under load. Using 87oct. That's the highest. The photos are just reving. Sorry, hope that helps.

hey Eric , are u able to add timing with the harness u have ? I would think 18 degrees would still be safe with good fuel and 50/50 water meth . the car killing the timing is ____ing me off . because there really isnt much difference between 4lbs and 6lbs with it killing 3 points of timing between the two .

I know there have to be others logging what there F/I car is doing under WOT

Yes, I can add timing with emanage. I'm waiting to get the black-box installed before I go back to stock timing (or start to add some). I was looking at some old logs and with no timing reduction the ECU was running like 17 degrees under partial-throttle acceleration, I'm pulling about 3 degrees at part-throttle boost my 13-14 number seems to be consistent.

My ECU is running timing in the low teens at WOT when under load just like your car is.

hey Eric , have u ran the car on a "learned" ecu and then a fresh reset ecu to see if the timing may be different ? I may have to try this to see if I can get some more timing before I bring this thing to the track .
